After asking for a budget hotel I didn't know what we'd get but I was pleasantly surprised! We had a 2 bedroom apartment (huge) which was clean and very lovely. We had 2 balconies both of which had pleasant views, we could see the pool. Our room was on the 3rd floor but even this didn't put us off. It...

Highland Beach Resort is ideally situated behind Newtons Supermarket. it is a sprawling complex but the gardens and seven pools are well maintained. There was just the two of us but we had been allocated a rather nice apartment comprising two bedrooms each with en-suite, a lounge and kitchen. We also had the advantage of having three separate balconies. Each...

I first stayed at this hotel in 2001 and loved it, but as it has got bigger the standards have fallen. Nice location and setting but the rooms we had were a big let down as far as cleanliness was concerned. We had to ask for clean towels after 4 days of them not being changed and the bathmats 1...

Spent two weeks in January, flew from LGW with Thomas Cook. Arrived early hours of the morning . Couldn't change money ( as per brochure) so we couldn't get a drink. Although the room is just a base, it so needed a deep clean, walls, doors where dirty , sticky . The shower curtain was full of mould and so...

We have stayed at highland beach several times before, I like the quiet location amongst the palms. Our room was really big with 2 bedrooms and 2 balconies, very dated being honest but we aren't bothered about that, the fridge worked fine, the only niggle was that some days we didn't get clean towels delivered to our room , we...

I came here on a business seminar visit. Rooms are poorly lit, knobs broken, rooms not cleaned well by housekeeping. To top that the housekeeping does a shoddy job of give the ancient tortoise mosquito coil as a solution for keeping mosquitoes at bay. The hotel management is the worst. The facility operates on 3 disjointed separate entities called housekeeping,...

Staying for two weeks. Rooms massive we have two double bedrooms and 3 balconies! Beds are rock hard! They are not keen on changing your towels in the rooms. Breakfast is just eggs and toast the Masala omelette is very tasty But remember Highlands are one of the cheaper hotels so don't expect 5 star.

Just returned from a 3 week stay at the Highland and already booked for next year. On the negative as mentioned in other reviews, the tablecloths can be a little dirty at breakfast, the mattress can be a little harder than what you may be used to at home, the towels may not look brand new every day! and you...
