A charming place to inspire new energy, to dream, to paint, to write, to take a break from everyday life. You can walk or climb in the mountains, enjoy wonderful sunsets, look at the moon at night or enjoy the fireplace. It is perfect to find back inner calm! Our hosts were warmhearted and did everything for us to feel... More

Let me start by saying that Al Karm is not for everyone. It is rustic, even basic and a long way from traditional modern conveniences. But if you want to get away from crowded industrial tourism, experience spectacular desert scenery, and meet friendly Bedouins, this is the place for you. The lodge was created out of an abandoned Bedouin settlement... More

If you abhor the crowds of the mass tourism market, then this is the place for you. Al Karm Eco Lodge is set about 3 hours walk north of St Katharine Monastery, in Wadi Gharba, which is next to el Sheikh Awad, and accessible from the main Feiran-Nuweiba Road at the village of Al Tarfa if you have a 4x4... Ok, so the Al-Karm Ecolodge isnt going to be everybody's cup of tea, if you are looking for an unforgetable experience - and plenty of desert tranquility, the Bedouin hospitality offered here is unique. We booked a trek with local guides, staying the first night at the Al-Karm Ecolodge and then walking out with camels across the desert the next... More
