Positives: place was clean, two bedroom unit was spacious, sleeper sofa had an exceptionally good mattress, unit furniture was in good shape, we had an oceanview updated unit. Place is on the boardwalk right across the beach. We enjoyed our walks and shopping on the boardwalk.
Negatives: place has only 3 elevators and 31 floors, dt to covid only 4 people were allowed in elevators and they are small anyway, staff use same elevators, takes forever to get one.
Pool is small and shallow, sometimes full of flies, not every staff person assigned to the pool for their shift bothered to skim it. Resort does not provide beach chairs or umbrellas, have to rent or bring your own.
Unit has small showers hard to turn around and no handheld shower head which made it difficult to shower. No housekeeping or service of any sort is provided without constantly asking them, no wonder elevators are always busy. You have to call if you need anything, for ex toilet paper, dishwasher soap, towel exchange etc, they won't leave extras in the room despite knowing you are staying a week. Kitchen was very poorly stocked for your own cooking, they didn't even have a broom or a vacuum in the two bedroom unit only as dustpan without a broom and blamed covid for shortage.
Overall we enjoyed our stay but it could have been much better if not for above negatives

Overall, the unit was clean and neat but decor was dated as others have mentioned. The bathrooms could use a renovation. The 2 bedroom unit was spacious. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Masks were required when outside the room which everyone appeared to adhere to. There were plenty of hand sanitizer stations throughout.

The location on the boardwalk was excellent. It was close to many casinos and a short walk to the beach. There was a cafe on the first floor with access from boardwalk that offered takeout. We did not use them as we brought our own food. The pool required reservations with only 10 people allowed in the pool at a time, 40 on the pool deck. The lounge chairs were strategically placed 6 feet apart. A negative I noticed was that although individuals were supposed to rotate out every 15 minutes, children and other individuals who got in first did not always get out so others could get a chance. As it was really hot, being able to get in the pool was refreshing.

The only other issue I had was with parking. We had 2 units and had 2 cars. One car was only in the garage for 2 nights but they charged us the daily fee for the week on both units. I went to the front desk with the parking pass when my family was leaving and they took the pass and said we would only be charged for 2 nights parking for the 2nd unit. I have tried calling and emailing but have gotten no responses. Since they checkout was via telephone and they emailed you a receipt, I was unable to address this while I was still at Atlantic Palace.

I have to say I'm quite disappointed with this resort I feel like the online pictures are a little misleading, the parking garage is extremely small and there's no elevator. when we got there it was pretty full so we had to park on the fifth level and walk all the way down. Our unit was half the size of what the online pictures looked like it was extremely small. our bed which we thought was supposed to be a queen was only a full and when I called the front desk to ask about it she insisted that it was a queen size and was kind of rude.. there were stains in the carpeting. It was just very cramped with two adults and two toddlers.not to mention the area around the resort is very run down and city like and is not family friendly at all..we didn't even get to use the pool cuz we thought it was an inside heated pool like most hotels and this one was outside so it was too cold to use the gym and the kids own and all the amenities were closed. The one restaurant in the hotel didn't open until 8:00 and closed at 4:00, the people in the cafe seemed nice but it was very old and run down and everything was served on paper plates plastic silverware paper cups..definitely not what we expected and unfortunately we will not be returning to that resort ,we will not be returning to Atlantic city...

I was very pleased with atlantic palace hotel they did an amazing job at taking covid-19 precaution, mask were required at all times and no more than 4 people at a time on the elevator . The customer service was very attend and kind. The pool were open but we needed to make an appointment to use it. They allowed 1 hour and 30 minutes per group, with 30 minutes in between groups to clean. Only10 person at the time were allowed in the pool and about 30 total in the pool deck. This hotel is located right on boardwalk close to the casinos and all others amenities Atlantic city has to offer. The hotel room was very clean an had an amazing beach view, you can enjoy the waves in the morning and the beautiful lights of the fairs wheel at night. Would definitely recommend.

I usually stay at five star properties but because of Covid, we decided to stay close by and didn't have many choices for a last minute trip. I didn't expect five star anything, however this property was terrific. I found all the staff incredibly friendly, starting with Dominique at the front desk who was more than accommodating with my many requests for a room. We had an oceanview room on a high floor. Our room was spotless and looked exactly liked the resorts photos. We cooked every night and found all the supplies we needed. Housekeeping provided extra towels and I really appreciated the timed pool reservations and having such a beautiful area to ourseleves during that time. People on the beach (mostly families) social distanced and everyone wore a mask in the hotel and were very understanding with elevators which you really didn't have to wait a long time for. I thought Atlantic City and the boardwalk would be really seedy but it reminded me of Wildwood with big casinos offering some nice dining out options if you wanted. If you walked further North the boardwalk is very quiet and looks brand new. If you don't want the honky tonk you'd probably be happier at the Flagship property which is way at the end of the boardwalk. Because of mixed reviews I was nervous about this stay. The staff's friendlieness, the ease of being right at the beach, the views and the room made it all a really nice break.

The bed and pillows were comfortable. The location was close to the casinos and beautiful ocean view out the window, but this is the kind of hotel where you have an inventory list of the items in the room and a sign that states that if you don't wash the dishes thoroughly you will be charged $50 (need to say more?) The front desk at check in was friendly, but after that you never get a hello. The room itself was clean, except the tub that had a ring of dirt at the level of when the tub is full of water. The laundry room was disgusting, all 3 days I checked on it (washer full of sand, floors dirty), the hallway carpet on the floor was stayed had big stains. Definitely not coming back and so far everyone that asked me where I stayed I told them to stay away.

I am a member of RCI. I exchanged points and purchased a guest certificate so that my 24 year old son (who is tight on money) could go with his girlfried. They were seeing a concert. After paying the guest fee, and exchange fee. I called the resort directly and asked if there are any cleaning charges because the RCI website says "They May" . The women told me no, just a $100 security deposit, and a $6 a day parking fee. Low and behold. They charge my son a week later, $55 cleaning fee. I called today and the person was quite snippy and said there is nothing she can do about it. My son said the resort was very nice, and I should exchange out and stay there. Why would I? I pay quite a bit for my RCI account to have these unclear "Hidden Fees" .

As stated previously, due to arriving early I was given a 1 BR unit not facing the ocean. Reception worked with me and was able to change me over to an ocean view room almost immediately. Apparently housekeeping cleaned the room without the ocean view first but in a short period of time my room was changed to an ocean view. THANKS VERY MUCH !!

The resort is situated right on the broadwalk and within walking distance of most points of interest.

The location of the Resort itself and the view of its unit is top notch among other resorts in the area. It is in the middle of the busiest section of the boardwalk. The view from the unit face right at the Atlantic Ocean. The elevator is slow and the resort always block (disable) 2 of 3 elevators for guest which making the situation much worse. I found out other two units were disabled/reserved because right the middle one is full and left, I pressed the button to call for next elevator and the other 2 would not move from its stationed position and I have to wait the middle one to come back after dropping off its last load. Avoid rush hour (checkin and checkout), the wait is brutal (15mins+) wait time is normal. The laundry machines now require a cellphone app to pay rather than just using coins. I did not bother. It is bad enough to charge for using laundry machine with a $400 resort fee charged for each stay.

o say we were disappointed in our experience at Atlantic Palace would be an understatement. The unit we were given was very dated. Furnishings were beat up and in need of replacement. Our unit had a lovely view of the parking garage and dumpsters. It did not have the water view that they advertise. Additionally, although the website says their rooms have queen-size beds, ours came with a full bed, at best. We have a queen at home, It was significantly smaller.

Our first night (one of the coldest of the season) the heating in the unit did not work. By morning, it was around 50 degrees inside. When maintenance came the following morning, he was able to reset the system and get it working for us, but we had a very uncomfortable night.

The public-facing staff seems to be very poorly trained. They were not particularly friendly or helpful. Comments in other reviews regarding the parking garage are accurate. It's extremely tight, both in parking spaces and driving lanes. We were also concerned that it was not particularly secure. There was an attendant in the booth, but we were able to enter the structure and climb the stairs without identifying ourselves.

This property is in need of a major update. Even by admittedly low Atlantic City standards, it is sub-standard in every important category. We've stayed in many Atlantic City hotels over the years. Atlantic Palace is at the bottom of the list.

Would you recommend this hotel? Is it updated? Clean? Safe? Free parking?

Bronx, New York6 contributions16 helpful votes
Yes, I would recommend this hotel! It is very safe. There is a parking fee of $6.50 per day, and they have both indoor and outdoor parking lot. The rooms are clean and spacious. I prefer the studio room because they have 2 queen-sized beds and a couch. Try to get a room on a higher floor because the view at night is phenomenal. When you make your reservation, be sure to specifically book at the "FantaSea Resort at Atlantic Palace" and not just "Atlantic Palace" because you will receive an older room if you do.

No they do not have an indoor pool. The outdoor pool is located on the 3rd floor with a deck/balcony overlooking the boardwalk. Outside pool is only open in the summer and the deck is also closed when the pool is closed.
