Disappointed right from the start, unable to check in till 4 pm, finally checked in got to the room and found carpet tacks sticking out through carpet and covered with duck tape, blood stains on bedding and dog crap on floor and balcony. The following 2 days we heard nail guns air compressors and hammering( literally had to ask construction workers to close doors to the room they were working on). Not one staff member ever informed us there would be construction going on while we were staying. (Definitely not worth the $500 a night,) Definitely will not be staying here again.
I was in town for celebrity boxing June 11th and the manager Steve Sharkey provided unbelievable accommodations and was very helpful for our stay we stayed a lot of places but the showboat is the best
I normally have no issues at this hotel. However this time was not so great. Card machine to pay for parking was down, so cash only ( and of course there was no sign). My room had a broken phone, lock was broken, stains on the carpet, and a pillow was missing from the bed. An employee at the hotel was coming out the room when I arrived and stated she was marking my room as not available to be used. I decided to keep the room since I had already waited 3 hours for the room.
The staff was super helpful and prompt. My room was available as soon as I arrived. I always enjoy the comfortable beds and the addition of The Lucky Snake Bar & Arcade is a huge plus. Can’t wait until I’m in Atlantic City, again. Thank you much.
I stayed from June 11 to June 13 (yesterday) (2021), the same days as the Boxing weekend took place. I was disappointed because the website was misleading and not as informative as it should have been. The website says the rooms are renovated but also shows pictures of the outdated version of the rooms. I got an outdated room. The light above the shower wasn't working so I sort of showered in the dark. The elevators weren't working properly. I spent 10 minutes in 3 different elevators just to get to my room. The gym was not open 24 hours as it says on the website. There was no sign advising of any temporary hours. The staff was nice and polite, but I was sort of busy during my trip and in a hurry to leave the hotel. I called today and they said they couldn't refund or compensate me because I didn't complain before I checked out yesterday. Not everyone is going to want to deal with complaints while they are somewhere and I think it's ridiculous that Showboat has this rule in place that no refunds or compensations should be given after someone has checked out. It was also a busy weekend with boxing event and staff was busy, it was a busy weekend. Showboat has made some improvements, but they have a long way to go, starting with immediately updating their website to include accurate information and photos about how the hotel is and what is available. If there are renovated rooms there, then I should not have had to pay the same amount for an outdated room. I made the most of my trip because I don't let things spoil a good time, but it definitely wasn't worth my money this time. I will have to think before I stay here again.…
