The location is great - right in the heart of Getsamani. The rates are good, the staff nice, and the included breakfast on the roof top terrace is a great start to the day. Issues - the rooms are incredibly small - there is not even room for your suitcase beside the bed. They have tried to do a modern...

The hostal is in an old colonial house. The rooms are really small and humid but the AC is function well. You have nice sitting area outside but anyway we spend most of the time outside the hotel. . the breakfast is good and the staff is really nice and helpful. The Wifi was not function in our room. We stayed at Baluarte only for one night. The room is small but we were glad to have A/C in our room! Cartagena is really hot! The staff were really nice and helpful. We had a late flight, and they helped us to store our luggage! The location is good, close to the old city and restaurants.

Actually the name promises a hostel, which is definately not the best description for it. So I went there with my Girlfriend, because Cartagena is supposed to the the romantic city and we wanted a nice private room. We payes each night 108'000 pesos which was a promotion (normally you pay 190'000, but I think they have all the time...

We stayed at another hostel when 1st in Cartegena which was full, so moved a couple of doors down to Casa Baluarte. For 15,000 more for a double room the hotel is a lot lot nicer and much much quieter. Set in an old colonial building which still has lots of the old furniture dotted about the place, the rooms...

Good location just outside the walled city. Clean, quiet, and well run. Staff was very helpful and professional. I had a private room with a nice private bathroom and air conditioning. Size of room was small by American standards but more than adequate. The cost was about $50/night. Safe. Good breakfast. Wifi was shaky in the room but fine in...

I've stayed in Hostal Baluarte (not a hostal, its a boutique hotel). This hotel is not for everyone, but it fits my needs exactly. I've stayed in mid price hotels all over the city over the years and this one fits the bill IF: 1) you get an AC room - the economy rooms are small and the beds less...

This is a budget b&b, I wouldn't consider it a hostel. The staff is friendly, rooms are fair size and very clean (this is important in Cartagena) with a nice sized bathroom, bed was great. It's a very short walk to the old city and Getsemani in many ways is similar to the old city. The area looks a little...

my Boyfriend and I went to spend summer vacations in Cartagena. We are still young and in love, so we were looking for a nice Hostel with good/great price, we made our reservation within two month earlier to our expected visit and turned out to have excellent prices. When we got there we were so excited because the room was...

Clean rooms, well equipped. friendly staff, though a bit high rated prices. The hotel is built in colonial style and healthy breakfast is being served. Certainly not the cheapest, but worth for its money.
