Nice and clean Room. Good Western Style Standard. Food was included with a good variety of Chinese Selection. friendly staff that tried to help us finding the bus tocketing Office And helped with Taxi explanation. No English. Though, Concerge Service And Knowledge about Local and remote transportation could have been better. Surrounding was okay. View was very Limited towards Old... More

not for westerners. no english spoken here. we needed our guide just to check in. the rooms were mostly clean, but the rugs needed replacing - looks very dirty. the breakfast is strictly Chinese. so if you don't speak Chinese, i suggest to stay away from this hotel.

The hotel is not the typical hotel with a great entrance hall and tiny rooms. The entrance hall was inviting with the music theme, the rooms were spacious and the bathrooms were equipped with all Bravat faucets and toilets. The toilets had the bidet built in, very nice. The rooms were clean and the staff were attentive. The location was... More

We stayed at Music Box hotel (local known) for one night for our 9 days trip of northern Xinjiang. It was pleasantly surprised that the hotel was new, modern, comfortable, and fully equipped with amenities. Buffet breakfast was good, had enough varieties of food to try. Location is at a busy shopping area with lots of shops and restaurants (Did... More

During our first trip to Urumqi in Dec 2013, we had a 4-night stay in Dec 2013. It was the best hotel we had in Xinjiang and probably China. The amenities provided were of decent quality, , except that the shampoo and body wash came in generic (Lux brand) large bottles and not individual small bottles. It was not important... More

This hotel is known locally as the Musbox hotel, which caused us a little difficulty finding the place, because Chinese taxi drivers don't seem that great when it comes to navigating by address alone! However, the room was very modern, clean and comfortable, and as much as they possibly could be, given the language barrier, staff were very helpful. Quite... More

Our hearts sank when our car pulled up outside, as the street is a dump. But once we were inside, things got much better, and fast. Really well appointed, attractive lobby, nice room with all mod cons, and working ones at that, free wifi, fluffy towels, very stylish. Breakfast was great. True, is is mainly Chinese food, but this is... More

I stayed at Bayinhe Hotel (also known as Musbox Hotel) in Urumqi for 2 nights in late August 2013. Musbox Hotel also seems to be affiliated with a mainstream KTV outlet with the same name also in Urumqi. I moved to the Musbox Hotel after one night in the Bestay Hotel Express (separate review posted). I paid 728 RMB (US$118)... More

This surprised me (I've been around a lot of China) but it's boutique hotel style. Really nicely kitted out hotel and a good breakfast. Only downsides were loud water pipes and the desk staff who were friendly but totally unable to tell us anything useful (in English or Chinese).

We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. It was clean, the beds were comfortable and had a more modern feel than you typically find in Xinjiang. We travel with two children and the hotel staff were flexible about us staying in the same room and wheeled in a cot (rock-hard, but better than nothing). The room was a bit dark... More

“Also reasonably close to the Texas Cafe (10 minutes walk), if interested in good western food. And about 1/2 hour walk to the Grand Bazaar (due south). The street it is on (Wenhua Lu) is also a good food street, just south of the next intersection. Highly recommended!”
