I stayed in this hotel with my grand father for total of 4nights. This hotel is situated in the Uyghur part of city so it is a bit far from central business district. However, the hotel is fairly centrally located so there is no shortage of amenities like eateries and shops. There was also a branch of Bank of China...

Looking at all below commebts i was a bit scared. No smoke smell in the room, room is clean ( ok a bit oldish) but clean and nothing wrong. The wifi is working perfectly, our luguages were delivered to our room and the groom refused the tip (!!) mentionning that it is included. The breakfast is decent ( not suitable...

The grand oriental-looking foyer can be deceiving, as the quality of the rooms is barely average. The rooms have slow internet connection, the room sizes differ from room to room (for the same price), the bathrooms are cramped, the upholstery is torn, and the furniture is gaudy. None if the staff speaks English, and it was a pain to get...

Crowning experience in Chinese style: fake everything. As usual no staff speaks English in a way that is helpful. Rooms are stuffy, and I had to try all the outlets before I found one that functioned for a charger. If you don't like smoke, just don't go here, everything smells stale. Did not try the breakfast as we left on...

I enjoyed my stay here, perhaps they've attempted to fix some of the things since past reviews were written? The lobby is grand, and I presume the marble staircases go somewhere, because we saw a wedding party ascending them, with singing and music, and a nervous looking groom. Some would call the furniture oppressive, but it just seemed old fashioned...

The Tumaris is an ugly monstrosity in the Uighur-dominated part of Urumqi. The pretentious marble lobby sets the tone, with its grand staircase that ascends on one side straight into a blank wall. The corridors and staircases are dirty. Our room was reasonably comfortable and the bathroom was OK, however. Breakfast was an unpleasant experience in the depressing dining room...

I thought when I booked a four star hotel that is what I would get. This hotel is more like a two star hotel. I initially did not believe other reports of this hotel, but they were true. My room was so heavy with left over cigarette smoke that I had difficulty breathing. The bedding and towels were the same...

At first glance this hotel looks impressive, then the Soviet style service, rooms with deafening ducting, cold food, poor lifts etc takes over. This hotel is definitely one to avoid. Near the interesting Muslim Quarter though.

The Tumaris hotel in Urumqi is located in the Tianshan District of Urumqi, not in walking distance to the Hongshan-Park and the center of Urumqui. While the hotel entrance and reception area look quite impressive, the rooms urgently need a renovation. What the four stars are for, remains hidden to the guest. I would not even give this hotel 2...

While on a tour of the Silk Road countries with friends we stayed at the Tumaris hotel in Urimqi China. Not knowing much about the hotel I was pleasantly surprised. The rooms were clean and comfortable with all of the usual amenities like en-suite shower / bathroom, coffee/ tea making facilities, TV though mostly Chinese stations, room service etc. Some...
