A palace of serenity that it is hard to believe the famous Kaun Zhai Alley is literally right next door. Located right in the heart of the city with easy access to exploring, impeccable services as you walked through the door. Check in was swift and we were greeted with the highly professional, helpful and courteous Jason (Xiao Lu) who really made guests felt welcomed and well attended to. The Cheng Du Suite is spacious, clean, chicly design but in a highly user friendly manner, with all the possible facilities one would expect from a 5 star boutique hotel. The suite also boast a lovely balcony that overlooks the ornate rooftop of the surrounding architectures. Breakfast choices were excellent and staff highly attentive and kind. We had a flight leaving at 8am, therefore check out was at 6am, and Jason was ready with all the necessary paperwork, receipt and a packed breakfast to go. A truly wonderful experience and a true gem in Cheng Du should anyone wish to visit.

The hotel is 5 feet away from a market in which background noise is constant throughout the day. And during the night, there is the construction background noise from diesel generators. The bathroom sinks reeked with moldy scent, and they are undoubtedly aware of that, so there is a bottle of air freshener just for that. The hotel reception staff is rude, egotistic, who keeps their absolute straight face, having no comprehension of communication. Their lack of training means their boutique experience is rather a scam. So be prepared to be disappointed and regret. Also, I'm wondering how many of these exquisite reviews are fake and paid for by the hotel.

The hotel is located in the historic heart of Chengdu near the bustling Kuan Zhai Alley with its cobblestone streets and the traditionally built housings. The hotel design puts great attention to detail. Even the style of the hotel is rather traditional, yet the facilities are very modern and the staff provides a fantastic service. We booked the Chengdu Suite in the hotel and were surprised by luxurious 90sqm with a huge balcony. The room was comfortable and a big snack platter including fruits and cookies being seasoned with Sichuan Pepper. as a welcome gift. The taste of this cookies was pleasantly ma (a numbing spiciness typical for the Sichuan cuisine). The stuff was friendly and was assisting us will all our requests, also providing us with sufficient cookies and tea as well as additional facial masks and disinfectant. We enjoyed the inroom breakfast as well as the one in the restaurant. Our preference was definitely the inroom breakfast because you have more choices of foods. What is also a big plus is the freshly squeezed orange juice, which is not that easy to get in China. Overall, we really enjoyed our stayed and could imagine to come back to this hotel in the future.
