I stayed there for 2 nights. It was my first time. All personnel where very attentive since my baggage didn't arrive from Beijing. We arrived too late and they open the restaurant for my party. It was cheap, very nice decorated. Great bed, big rooms, abundant hot water. I will definitely come back to this hotel
The hotel stands just outside the west wall of the old Datong City, overlooking Huayan Temple, which's 15 minutes' walk distance away. Downstairs is a bus stop of Line 603, a route to Yungang Grottoes which takes some 30 minutes when traffic's good. Hotel service seems not so standardized, but staff are warm-hearted anyway. They even voluntarily washed the sockes left in the room. About the price, their fee schedule's rather flexible. Avoid 'long holidays', when lots of tourists come swamping. We booked for a weekend that is several days before a 3-day holiday, and saved at least 50% compared to the holiday price.
