4 star type hotel near the newly built city walls. Room is ok, not that well maintained but fairly new, bathroom and bed is ok. They have good rates Con's - no English speaking personell - limited western breakfast

Conveniently located with an adjoining Walmart, this new property has huge rooms, equally huge bathroom and some good local restaurants. The bar is well stocked. The only challenge with this hotel is communication if you are not a native Chinese speaker. The hotel has air cooling but no AC so during summer choose high floors facing away from the morning...

Being hosted by a local business, we were allocated this hotel which turned out to be an excellent Chinese "international" hotel. The room was large, comfortable and clean, with an impressive bathroom. The breakfast restaurant was buffet style and well stocked and, remarkably, an espresso machine. Breakfast coffee in Chinese hotels is, in my experience, almost ubiquitously foul, consisting of...

I have been twice in this hotel when visiting Datong. The value for price is unbeatable. Very new and nice big rooms. Staff do not speak much English, though. Breakfast is good but not too western oriented. But in general is a great place to stay in.

Spent 2 nights here in May. Check in was fast and efficient. The club room was fine and kept very clean, although there was an ash tray there wasn't a stale or cigarette smell. The sheets and linens were of good quality. The room service menu was only in Chinese, a translation would have helped. My husband used the spa,...

My daughter recently posted a comment on my behalf regarding unfairness with discounts offered at the hotel. That statement was true at the time. However, after discussions with the hotel management, this issue was resolved satisfactorily, and i can state that the hotel was very forthcoming in correcting their mistake. With this attitude from the hotel, i will recommend a...

New and very impressive. Of course time wil tell how the appearance keeps up, but during my visit I very much got a feel of a buzzing hub right in the middle of the city. My superior room was very spacious, the bathroom is huge too. A good impression of luxury. The tone of the room is a little gloomy...

Stayed 4 nights early June. Beautiful room. Everything works! Service is excellent. Minor repairs done promptly. Front desk staff - esp Ms Ma & Ms Lau - are helpful & courteous. Very good choices for breakfast. Dining room staff welcoming. Recommends highly.

Why I will not live in this hotel whenever in Datong despite it being new, having one of the best decor and room in town and serving good food at cheap price in the inhouse chinese restaurant 1) The hotel blows cool air, not air con in June, which is summer in China. Perhaps the coal mining magnate who may...

The location is okay but there are some restaurants around that area so it's good. We were only there for one night and the room was outstanding! I think this hotel is going to be good for both business and leisure travelers !

“Consider the Holiday Inn which is about 3 minutes drive from this hotel. At least Holiday inn blows air-con 24 hours per day, not wannabe cool air pretending to be air con. I know my air con!”
