The hostel is in a central location inside the city walls, and we found it using public transport and a bit of walking. You have to go through a shop to get to the hostel which was a bit confusing, but there's signs so you can find it. The staff were really helpful, (and spoke far more English than our...

The reviews here are somewhat mixed and so was our expirience: -The hostel is run by a young family. The husbands seems to have a regular job (no english), while the wife (enough english to cover the basics of communication) does everything in the hostel -The hostel is located in the 2nd floor. You have to walk through a shop...

They say they speak in english... they don't The location is excellent and they arrange a taxi for going to the different spots near Datong which was an advantage for my economical situation It was that clean but it was ok for chinese standards. The entrance is a kid cloths store so don't be afraid, just enter to the place

We arrived at 10:30 by train and there was no way we would have found the hostel without the taxi drivers help - perhaps that was built into the price which was RMB135 - very expensive compared to Beijing. The room was comfortable but basic (our own bathroom which we prefer)remind them to give you towels as they forgot ours,...

We stayed two days in this hostel. The check-in was absolutely friendly, although it was late in the evening. The room was simple and clean. We had a privat room, which was clean and for us comfortable. The only minus, that you can smoke in the common area and that is hard for non-smoker. But in the end, many thanks...

The ladyboss is very helpful and willling to accomodate to our requests. She is very friendly. However, the cleanliness and condition of the toilet could be improved. The other staff were also not as au fait with the hotel procedures as compared to the ladyboss.

Don't stay here. I thought it could've been better because some of the reviews said that it's been improving, but I guess I don't know how bad it was before. the dorm I stayed in was very cold (they said that the heater was on, but I can't feel any heat coming out of the "heater"). very minumu English was...

The staff are really nice. The man gives good recommendations of Datong and is willing to help make the stay enjoyable, sadly he only speaks Chinese. But the lady speaks decent English. The car rides they host to the attractions are worth it and good! The place is decent. Yes people do smoke in the common room, but thankfully are...

Location is good if you want to use the bus. The walking street is very ritzy and not much around. The hostel itself was noisy. We had a private room and might as well been in a dorm. They have a child that stomps around and screams in the common area....we had to ask for toilett paper and towels and...

The staff are very nice and do their best to help despite limited English. For what it is though I think it's somewhat overpriced. The drains are a bit smelly, no toilet paper or towel provided and the room layout is rather odd to say the least. Bed was pretty hard (as usual in China) and the linen was worn...

“i was staying in a 6 bed dorm with a shower room inside. the shower room is see through. if you were a girl and staying here, i would recommend asking if they have other room type. also, smoking was apparently allowed in the dorm, so pick wisely.”
