The location of this hostel seems to be in a failed property development area. It is near Polar Ocean World which is not close to anything else of interest. It's 12 km from the main Qingdao railway station. Quite pleasant harbour views in the morning. We had a private room and an 8 bed dorm. The dormitory beds were well built, pod style for privacy however all the beds were unmade with dirty linen left on them, no towels! the private room was ok although when I attempted to access the room using my newly given pin code someone from the inside opened the door, mumbled in Chinese, exited and then entered the adjacent room. He had clearly been sleeping in my 'clean' sheets! The private room looked ok and was spacious with a window, towels and toiletries provided, it had a tv fixed to the wall. Wifi worked well enough too. The noise was quite bad, the ceiling wasn't sealed to the walls so next doors telephone conversation was crystal clear! Especially at 1am! Plus the friends chatting on the stairs made for interesting listening! NOT! The bathroom for the private room is meant to be shared with just 1 other! It was dirty, the loo was filthy, I wouldn't go bare foot in there to wash! Just touching the door handle needed care!! The bathroom for the dorm was filthy and muddy, the showers were broken. All in all I would not recommend this hostel despite the price for 1 night being ¥25 and ¥90. Personally I'd rather pay a bit more and stay somewhere clean and near to amenities.

I stayed here over the weekend in a shared dorm room, if you're looking for simplistic accommodation with agreeable prices then this is your place. However don't expect too much. Let me summarise: Pros - - Cheap - Comfortable Bed - Helpful receptionist who speaks English. Cons - - Rooms are surprisingly small (having to put on your own sheets in the space provided is difficult) - The rooms weren't particularly clean, they had litter on the floor so walking around in bare feet wasn't an option. - The shared shower and toilets were in desperate need of a clean. Hair, rubbish and other things on the floor. - Without the English speaking receptionist, the rest of the staff don't speak it well enough to help. - The Wi-Fi connection in the bedrooms hardly worked. Expect service in the lobby only. - It's tricky to find, especially if you're arriving at night. - It is a fair ride away from the centre of Qingdao, expect a 30 minute bus journey or a cab price of 15 RMB. All in all, it did the job, there were good and bad things. However personally, I wouldn't return to this hostel in the future.

I stayed 3 nights at triple room(twin beds) with my friend. The room was fine and bathroom was enough size. The bed was bigger than normal single bed. Some people can think it's little bit far from the touristic place, but you can also walk around the hostel 'cause it's just in front of the small wharf. Most of staff only speak Chinese, but there should be at least one staff who can help you in English. You can also find some buses near the hostel which goes to the main touristic spots. But the taxi drivers don't know the hostel well, so you would better to have the map of the hostel. Also all the hostel interior is surrounded by artwork such as wall paintings. You must like this place!

Great! I enjoyed my stay here, good location, very close to the Bus station, clean room/bed, nice/polite/good english speaker and helpful staff. few stops away from the Airport Bus stop. no chance for trying them food. Curtains around the bed providing privacy & universal adapters for chargers was the best idea (well done to the management of Dragon King). WiFi is very good I can use facebook !!!!!! Probably common thing in china cos anywhere else I stayed was the same! this hostel highly recommended to every one

This has the potential to be a really nice hostel. The location is great if you want to get away from the crowds in the centre of town, the staff are friendly (although not especially helpful) and the social space is fantastic. However... - I stayed for three nights and I was woken up between 0620 and 0800 every morning - The staff promised to address this issue on the first day, but I was woken up earlier each morning - I only had hot water on one of the three days - When the staff tried to talk to their boss about my complaints he assumed that I didn't speak Chinese and told them to find someone else to deal with me I was told that the construction should be finished in a month or two, and I think that once it's over this will be a much nicer place to stay. Until then however, I just can't recommend this hostel.
