The hotel was very clean, bed was nice. However, the lights/AC system was very difficult to figure out. And because everything shuts off when you leave the room -- it made it very hot! Construction next door so the windows cannot be open but the maid would open anyway. Hard to figure out how to close. Would of been nice to of had some type of breakfast.
The school in Zibo (elsewhere in Shandong Province) where I teach is on a month-long holiday for Spring Festival/Chinese New Year. So, I decided to spend a week of that in Qingdao because one of my colleagues recommended it. I chose this hotel because of its proximity to Wusi Square, but also because it was less expensive than many of the other hotels nearby. The room is very high-tech. Even opening the door merely requires placing your room "key" card in front of an electronic panel, after which you can turn the door handle. A remote control opens and closes the curtains. The temperature is controled via a digital panel on the wall. The lights have different labeled settings controled by a labeled electronic panel by the bed. The room key is placed in a niche on the wall by the door and makes everything else operational. There isn't much in the way of amenities. No spa, gym or pool or any of the other things that, frankly, I have no use for. For me, a hotel is just a place to sleep and a base of operations from which to do other things, like see the sights. This hotel is more than satisfactory in that regard. The water pressure in the shower is excellent and the shower is a nice, large size. The hotel is a short walk to Wusi Square (to the left as you leave the hotel) and the Olympic Sailing Center (to the right as you leave the hotel). There are shopping centers near the Sailing Center as well. One of them, Marina City, is adjacent to the Sailing Center. If you're like me and enjoy a good cup of coffee, there are several coffee shops to choose from, each with its own "flavor." I would definitely recommend this hotel.…
