China Eastern airline put us here after a diverted flight. The hotel is in a gritty industrial area. There was no English speaking staff apparent. The dimly lit lobby was without heat and smelled unpleasant. The hotel appears to be undergoing some sort of haphazard construction work. The first room I was given had no window and there was plaster debris and soot on the bed. The second room contained 3 very hard single beds. The single mattress was more like a box spring. The heater produced heat for a couple of minutes and then failed to do anything the rest of the night. By 4 AM the temperature was 45 degrees in the room. The hotel info book was mostly in Chinese but in English you were instructed to leave your pests (not pets) outside. I was more concerned about pests inside. The light over the bathroom mirror did not work, leaving the bathroom dimly light, which probably was a good thing. The towels were thin and significantly worn. One of the other travelers stranded there received a call in the middle of the night asking if they were interested in a massage. The wakeup call to get on the bus back to the airport involved someone banging on my door and yelling in Chinese. I had to pay the hotel not to be doubled up with someone – thanks China Eastern. Even at no cost it would not have been worth the stay at this hotel.…
