This is a quiet location in a busy area. There are several buildings in large well kept garden surroundings. Our room was very spacious but the buildings are a bit dated although the facilities in the rooms are very good. Location is very good as the sea is in walking distance and good shopping is also not far away. Service was very good and friendly except for the lack of english speaking staff, however, they were all very helpful. Many hotels in the area are very busy so if you want a quiet spot this is the place except for the short noisy wedding celebrations on the weekends.
The hotel has a great view of the ocean and the surrounding building build by the Germans when the lived here and they also started the world famous Qing Dao beer. The club room serves a various of good Chinese breakfast items and in the evening elegant fine dining is available. A huge spa is in a separate building which we visited but did not use due to lack of time. Most of the staff spoke good English or at least enough to make ourselves understood. As in most Chinese hotels, liquor drinks are expensive and a good bartender is not only not available but neither are a full complement of supplies.
