Arrived late and was given an nice upgrade shame that it was so late and that I departed early an unable to enjoy the view.
Room is well appointed good size especially bathroom quality finishes and clean. The face masks in the bathroom a nice touch for us girls as was the quality of slippers, amenities and tea coffee etc.
Impressive that all the team members I encountered spoke reasonable English and the bellman that assisted me on departure was making a real effort to engage me in conversation kudos to your training managers well done.
I checked into the Double Tree by Hilton Xiamen at Wuyuan last Friday. I've been here a couple of times and typically stayed in the standard room. During this trip I was fortunate enough to get a nice upgrade to a suite. The room was beautiful, big and clean. A nice change from 3 weeks in Hong Kong. Unfortunately the temp in the room was around 26C. A little warm for this westerner. In addition, the TV's, both of them didn't work until I had house keeping come up and reset both. I had to do this each of the three days I was there. The temp never did come down as the regulate temperature by floor so regardless of what you're doing with your thermostat, the temp won't change. The Double Tree Wuyuan Bay is a beautiful hotel. But, it's not that comfortable and it's hard to get a good nights sleep in.
Doubletree Wuyuan Bay Hotel boasts 20+ stories of clean and tasteful modern rooms with amenities aplenty. If your travel budget allows, consider a stay on an executive floor which permits access to the exec lounge (feat. billiards table, 2 putting runs, computers/printers, and boasts gorgeous views over the bay during your complimentary breakfast, cocktail hour with heavy hors d'oeuvres, and refreshing snacks). Many property personnel are adept in English. Property is in a residential and business tower area which boasts several convenience stores and a few restaurants nearby). City center is about a 30 minute taxi ride (<$10US). Ferry terminal to Kinmen Island Taiwan is just across a beautiful, tree-lined, multi-lane, divided, road. XMN airport is about 10 minutes by taxi (<$3US). Wanda Shoppng Mall with Walmart and higher end Western brands, American fast food, and traditonal regional Chinese sit down dining is just 15 minutes by taxi (around $5US equivalent). This hotel is perfect if you are arriving or departing XMN. If staying for a longer time period, you may feel location is too remote and I would recommend staying in the city center for walkability to beaches, historic sites, and other interests.
DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Xiamen - Wuyuan Bay was a bit pricey for Chinese standards but well worth the extra few bucks. The location just across the street from the Wukang Ferry Terminal was convenient as I arrived late and took an early ferry out. The professional staff spoke decent English which is usually an issue at Chinese hotels. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast spread was fantastic with a good variety of Western and Chinese dishes and was enough to fill me up until well beyond lunch time. After so many disappointing experiences at Chinese hotels, I always found it to be well worth the extra money to get a room at an established international hotel chain. Only negative would be that most of the city sights are on the opposite side of the island and there wasn’t much dining options nearby.
Sea view is good. clean and comfortable room. But service need to be improved. It is a hotel after all, not a tourist attraction.1.Assign wrong rooms to me and my friends though I specified in APP when I made the booking. It confused me the most.2.Room type was wrong when I paid extra for an upgrade.3.Call me 'Ms' though I am clearly a man.4.My friends name is wrong in the bill.5.I was told a manager would visit my friends in person and no one showed up in the end.6.The bill is not correct and till now it has not been solved yet.7.Fish bones in porridge in breakfast.

DoubleTree Xiamen is 25 minutes by car to Gulang Yu ferry port, as well as ZhongSan Lu, however, on the way there from the hotel you will enjoy the coast line along Xiamen island without suffering from traffice within the city. Yet, the hotel is equipped with Premier twin room, sufficient space to have a baby crib and an extra bed in. Location wise, we are very easy access to Airport, but away from noise city center. Let us know if you need further assistance.
Thank you and take care
