Shakana is a great guy and he runs a hostel that is simply a charming place with lots of good memories. It's clean, frequented by a lot of Chilean people to learn more about Chile and has great breakfast cooked by Shakana himself. In the night we did dinners with many other people and sat in the living room playing... More

You will not regret staying at this hostel. But, know that you are not staying here for luxury. You are staying here for an authentic experience with an amazing owner who puts his hostel, and you, the client, before all the rest. I look back at this hostel with the best memories, despite having stayed at many throughout my life.... More

This is an amazing and family like experience. Hostel Shakana has great beds, bathrooms, people and breakfast. The owner is super friendly and helpful and he will make any gathering unforgettable! All in all, super great hostel, with an amazing host and great proximity to the bus, it has wifi, a computer, washing machine. Enjoy!

Lovely place. Kind and generous owner, warm spirit (and fire) in the hostel. Fast wifi, good breakfast. We got some useful tips in prep for trips into the national park, and shakana was kind enough to let us leave big bags for free. Close to town. Recommended.

I stayed at Hostal Shakana before and after doing the O trek in Torres del Paine and it was just great. The owner, Chacana, is so friendly and helpful and he does everything with so much energy! Nothing was too much to ask of him - he really made our stay. The hostel is undergoing some work (it recently changed... More

Shakana, the owner, was friendly from the beginning! He gave us tips for our Patagonia backpacking trip and served a fantastic breakfast. The whole staff gave off a great vibe, and we were able to exchange stories and jam out a bit on the guitars in the common area. Definitely recommend this hostel if your priority is a friendly place.

After doing the Reservation via Hostelworld (it's suspended there now!) we asked for an additional confirmation. 6 days later and just some hours before we arrived in Puerto Natalas all we received was the message that the "real" address would be somewhere else. No explanation or excuse. When we arrived at this new address, we had to move again, to... More

Shakana provides everything you need during your stay, from waking up a bit early to make you breakfast before your bus to lighting the heaters in the bedrooms every night. He even babysat a couples' dog while they hiked the W, and they didn't even sleep at the hostel while in town. The place really feels like a home and... More

We stayed at Hostel Shakana for a few nights while in Puerto Natales. Very friendly place, loads of sociable people to meet and find our about local activities. Shakana himself was very helpful with advice for our W trek. Breakfast was great and the rooms comfortable. Ample kitchen space for us to cook, and main street was only a 10... More

We spent seven nignts at this hostel; five in a four bed dorm and two in a private room. Shakana is the name of our host, a delightful man who shares his love of music as he practices his guitar. The hostel is located in a traditional Patagonian home where the common spaces including a kitchen with big common table... More
