Detailed Reviews
I have stayed in many many hotels around the world and if I compare combined the quality, cost, amenities, staff and food the golden temple outshines all.
Both my partner and I were impressed when we received the call requesting when we would arrive for our airport pickup. We were met by a very smart young man who did much explaining for our benefits
On arrival we received small towels and a small arrival platter.
The room was outstanding and the staff were exceedingly polite and dedicated to ensure we enjoyed, bot often you see staff who really appear to enjoy their jobs.
The pool area was sheltered from the sun and great for a swim, nibbles and cocktails after a hot day sightseeing.
As part of the package we were given a number if vouchers, resulting in the very delicious meal in the hotel being free and the 2m1 5 to 2 hour massages costing a very very minimal price.
We arranged our tours through the hotel, which were also very reasonable.
Located a 10 minute walk from the centre of Siem Reap, the very lively Pub Street and night and day markets was also very convenient.
You cannot go wrong - what an experience.

The Golden Temple Retreat offered me a safe clean place to unwind, as a solo female traveler. They offered me complimentary airport pick up service, complimentary WiFi and complimentary breakfast... the photo of their long pool surrounded by trees and many fountains pouring water in the pool sealed the deal.
There was no need for me to go outside to shop around for tours, massages or meals. Everyone at the Retreat is friendly and excel in hospitality.
Arena, a petite Cambodian young woman listened to me as I explained my needs.
Lots of Temples, strong handed massages, Psar Leu market, tuk tuk transportation, circus acrobatic performance and a balloon ride.
Arena found me a pleasant tuk tuk driver named Ravi
The fresh air, wind in my hair and exotic feel of the transportation was well appreciated by me.
She also found me an English speaking tour guide to keep me company on my three day Temple pass and Psar Leu market.
Signet, the tour guide also takes excellent panoramic photos.
The Golden Temple Retreat offered me a discount on massages and I indulged.
Kit, a therapist with strong hands and well skilled in acupressure won my attention.
Darin, a blind male therapist won my curiosity and empathy...He has compression and acupressure skills which were done over my pajama covered body.
The Golden Temple Retreat has creative chefs, serving delicious meals with style. The quality of the food and reasonable fees kept me loyal, so there was no need to eat some place else.
The rooftop has a colorful garden setting, where I enjoyed the happy hour and some of my meals, while enjoying the sunset.
The sound of the many fountains pouring water in the pool calmed my mind, while I napped on the lounge chaise surrounded with tall trees and plants.

What to say? Everything has been perfect since we arrived here, specially the service! Annie is the perfect Guest relations manager. She has managed to pamper us in a manner that we feel at home! The room is spacious with a modern design bathroom. Every single time we enter the lobby, a cold wet towel meets us to freshen us up. The spa is an unbelievable experience. The traditional Khmer massage is a one in a lifetime experience!

We stayed here last week for 4 nights. I have to say it’s one of the best hotels we’ve stayed in. The location is great as it’s in a quiet area with restaurants close by but just a 10 minute walk to the markets and busier areas. Our room was an excellent size and had everything we needed. The food was very good, with both Asian and Western options. But the thing that makes this hotel special is it’s staff; they are so friendly and welcoming and make a real effort to make sure that everything is as you want it. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

During our 3 nights stay at this boutique hotel, we felt well looked after by the friendly and helpful staff. They provide pick-up service at the airport. Welcome drinks and cold refreshing towels were served upon arrival at the airport and at the hotel lobby. Snacks like banana chips and nuts were provided throughout our entire stay.
The concierge/hostess Marida was extremely efficient and paid extremely attention to details, to our needs, and to our preferences. She does a great job and is indeed a treasure to Golden Temple Retreat!
Special thanks also to our private tour guide Tep Nat and driver Noy. We got all the tours infos at hotel concierge and decided to book 2 days Angkor private tours. Nat is specialized in tours of Angkor Wat and Siem Reap region. He speaks fluent English, was excellent, knowledgeable, reliable and went extra mile for us. Driver Noy always made sure our trip was safe and asked us if we wanted any cold water.
This boutique hotel is charming and well located: within walking distance to shops, night markets, cafes and restaurants, only 15 mins drive to Angkor Wat. The room was very spacious, clean, relaxing and had everything we needed. The bed was big and very comfortable.
Great food and excellent service at the hotel restaurant, we got to try local dishes. Golden Temple Retreat also provides nice massage treatments, i wasnt really into spa and massage but my husband encouraged me to get one and i did- a full body oil massage. I was glad I did because it was soooo good!
Overall everything was beyond our expectation. A brilliant, one-off venue and highly recommended!!

We stayed at the Golden Temple Retreat in Siem Reap for 4 nights in early December and we loved it. It was reasonably priced and the location was great, 10 minutes walk to pub street and the centre of town.We had a poolside room which was a good size with a large bed, a stone bath and separate shower and it was kept spotlessly clean. The breakfast had a good choice and the spa treatments were good value. What really stood out were the staff who did everything they could to make our stay a good one, especially Sreynat who came to check on my wife every morning when she wasn’t feeling well and even made her fresh ginger, lime and honey tea which was a nice personal touch. We would definitely recommend this hotel

We just finished our 3 day stay at Golden Temple Retreat and we were amazed by the level of service we received. 5 stars all the way. We made a reservation through one of the travel platforms and were offered a nice deal. Scheduling the airport pick-up was as convenient as messaging Golden Temple Retreat ahead of time and providing our arrival information.
On the day of our arrival, we were greeted at the airport by Soeun, Daro. While enroute to Golden Temple Retreat Mr Soeun explained that he wanted us to feel as if we were at home while staying at Golden Temple Retreat and if there was anything he and his staff could do for us, just ask.
Upon arrival at Golden Temple, our luggage was delivered to our room, and we were treated to cold towels, a refreshing cold welcome drink and local snacks while we checked in.
During our stay, we were always greeted by every employee with a smile. Every time we saw Mr Soeun he greeted us by name and took the time to ask about our day and to check if we needed anything.
We elected to have the majority of our meals at the restaurant at Golden Temple Retreat rather than Pub Street. The local food prepared by the restaurant chef was very good and the quality was better than what we had on Pub Street. Mr Sok, Tong was the restaurant manager and he spoke to us often. He was there from early morning during breakfast until nighttime after dinner. Mr Sok also remembered and greeted us by our names, and ensured our dining experience, whether it be breakfast, lunch or dinner was top notch. Mr Sok even went to the trouble of going out and getting us some fresh coconut milk and delivering it to our room when we inquired if the restaurant had any.
Our room included an hour massage which we gladly used on the first day after a few very long flights to Cambodia. The ladies on the 4th floor provided excellent massages. We ended up getting a massage every night of our stay because the ladies were so good, and Mr Soeun made the price extremely reasonable, better than what we found near Pub Street. In addition the massage rooms were clean.
Overall we had a wonderful stay. All the employees cared about our stay and ensured we were well taken care of. We were able to book our tour to Angkor Wat through Mr Soeun. Everything was taken care of. Thank you Mr Soeun Daro and Mr Sok Tong for making sure we received the royal treatment and making us feel as if we were home. As Cambodia and Siem Reap opens back up to tourism, I encourage you to give Golden Temple Retreat a try.

Please chose this hotel, you will not regret it. I came to hotel last minute, after not a pleasant stay at another hotel. When me and my husband arrived here, we were greeted by the amazing staff. The manager Sophie gave us tea, cold towels, bananas chips, and nuts while she prepared our room. She upgraded our room with a pool view. She gave us a complimentary spa, lunch, and a quick Khumer lesson to learning the basics language to greet others. The staff were amazing.
The room: When you walk into the room, it looked just like the pictures, beautiful fresh flowers on the bed. White and clean linen. The room is extremely spacious. We have two full body mirrors and 3 mid body mirrors which is great for getting ready and taking pictures. The room came with a lovely turquoise blue couch. The bed was the best sleep ever. It was so comfortable. The bathroom had fresh robes and slippers, water, plenty of toiletries.
The best part about the bathroom was the smell good body scrub that they complimentary to the guest.
Lastly, the hotel is just beautiful and the staff take good care of all the guest. They check in with you daily. They book excursions and activities for you. They make sure you are well fed lol.
We had a late flight, and we were able to stay in our rooms later for free and we appreciated that, because after being out in the heat, we needed a good shower before our flight home.

Golden Temple Retreat was by far the most service-oriented hotel experience I have ever had (and probably ever will have). From the moment we were picked up at the airport, the staff went above and beyond to ensure we had an amazing time in Siem Reap. Each staff member was extremely pleasant and wanted to know how they could make our stay better. We went through the hotel to book day trips to Angkor Wat and they set us up with Sokha to help transport us around. Sokha was incredibly knowledgeable and went out of his way to ensure we had an amazing and unforgettable experience. When we were doing the sunrise tour one morning, the staff ensured that breakfast was ready for us at 5 AM, which was completely unexpected and very much appreciated. We stayed in a ground floor room with access to the pool and it was massive. The bed was the most comfortable hotel bed on which I have ever slept. The hotel is in a great location and a ~15 minute walk to the center of town. It is also next door to Spoons, which is a phenomenal restaurant. Our amazing experience at Golden Temple Retreat continued all the way up through our transport back to the airport during which the staff members that drove us continued to provide great conversation and service. Everything about Golden Temple Retreat exceeded our expectations. Their staff should be hired to train others on how to provide 5-star service.

We stayed in the Golden Retreat Hotel and Spa. Amazing Hotel, definitely lives up to its five star rating. The staff quite simply aim to please. They organised us a tour guide and driver to aid us in our quest to explore Angkor Wat and other temples.
Our guide was Mr. La Rorn. His English was excellent, however his knowledge was supreme. He gave a very comfortable and compelling tour which made it such an interesting trip. La was very attentive and made sure we had new fresh water bottles ready for us and plenty washroom visits. All in all the trip was not just fascinating but comfortable and safe!

Yes you can definitely swim laps and I would say 25 to 30 metres long. At a guess. Lovely pool and amazing hotel.

Stratford-upon-Avon, United Kingdom2 contributions2 helpful votesDo all Premier double rooms have pool access? The picture shows a bed and swing outside but the description just says pool view. I would prefer an official answer from the hotel but can't find their email address
The rooms on the ground floor have direct access to the pool. The pool lies in the center of the property. All you have to do is to open the sliding door of your room and the pool is right there.
"Pool is very shaded ! So slightly on the cool Side ! Would be nice to sit on a sunny spot . "Read full review
