The hotel is very old. It seemed too expensive to me for what they offer. Mattress was old and uncomfortable, the AC didn't work, the room didn't have a safe. In general it was just average. Good things: Restaurant, pool and location.

I was in this Hotel 34 years ago for my honeymoon & decided to spend a few days w/my two sons & a daughter in law in the same spot. This Hotel has kept its homy atmosphere where the employees are very pleasant, polite & they try to make your stay pleasant & smooth. The double rooms are clean, &... More

Motel with outdated rooms. Deco was dreary, lighting poor ,bathroom awlful. Room curtains would allow the light in. Breakfast was poor. Lot of food not replenished. Pool looked ok but lounger dirty , broken, no towels or covers to be had. The only good thing was the omelette at lunch. Would not recommend this hotel

This hotel was my fifth in four countries on a whirlwind business trip in South America. It was my favorite to date. These rooms are spacious and comfortable. The windows are stained brown wood, totally lovely, with sliding windows halfway up to let in fresh air. The moldings around the room must be an easy 8" at the ceiling, in... More

I reviewed the opinion of other travellers previous to my stay at Hotel Asturias and I pretty much agree with most of them. The hotel´s location is fair good, on a quiet street. The staff is kind and available to help. The rooms are very simple, they would need several improvements to make it more comfortable and nice looking. There... More

The main reason I choose to stay here is for the hotels yard. Its like a oasis in the middle of the ever so noisy and busy Santa Cruz. So this is the very upside of the hotel. The walls are quite thin, and the room was not clean upon my arrival. I would have complained about this as once,... More

Given that Bolivia is a very poor country I think some of the reviews are a little unfair. We stayed overnight on Christmas eve, as part of a tour group heading to the Andes from Rio, and could not have been made to feel more welcome. The hotel offered to open the restaurant for dinner on Christmas eve and again... More

Seemed a good hotel to us, comfortable, we slept well. Rooms a bit simple. However, I felt that hotel was an oasis on calm in an otherwise bustling Santa Cruz. We were only there for a matter of hours, enough time to have a meal, an overnight sleep, but then off to the airport, not enough time for breakfast. More... More

I almost didn't stay here because of some of the negative feedback I read and the lack of a website. The property definitely is old. Old, and well maintained and more importantly very clean. Could they use a new swimming pool? yes. Would new furniture in the restaurant look nice? yes. But could they do that and still charge only... More

After Asuncion, hoping for better from South America: Nope! The hotel looked promising from the outside, with a nice driveway and flowering gardens. The room was b-a-s-i-c: and promise of star ratings was a fantasy. The thin curtains did not keep out a blazing outside light, so no sleep. Exhausted, I went optimistically to the pool (3.30pm) to find the... More

“I had room 12 on the lower level of the main building. Some rooms are in the middle of the lot out front, which means cars pass by close when coming in, so you might ask for the main building. There are two stories, so if stairs are a problem, let them know.”
