Definately my favourite place in Dubai and worth making another trip just to spend time in this oasis of of authenticity. Thank you for creating this space which celebrates the underlying diversity of cultures in this curious city. Wonderful art, fabulous food and excellent hospitality.

Great place to stay if you want something different. Located in the Al Fahidi Historical Neighborhood the XVA has individual and creative rooms on two floors. The rooms are in the middle of an art gallery with changing styles - always interesting. Near the souks and great local shops and restaurants. Not the typical international Dubai hotel experience. Very memorable....

Friends had recommended XVA and pics looked great. I was a apprehensive about taxis not being able to drop off at Hotel, however, the driver dropped me at Dubai Museum and I walked 5 minutes. Everything about XVA was fabulous - staff, location, amazing food, courtyards, my room, gallery and shop, plus visiting artists doing workshop and selling upcycled gifts!...

My husband and I stayed 2 nights at this guesthouse and what we most liked was the location. Inside the Al Fahidi neighborhood , near the Dubai Museum and the Abra Bur Dubai Dock. What we didn't like was the fact to stay upstairs ( no elevator - and in my case I was with an ankle twisted problem.

So I live in Dubai and went to stay here for a couple of nights. It was just so adorable, and such a change from the usual glitz and glamour of Dubai. It's full of charm, and has the most amazing food. Very cool funky place to stay. Thank you.

I stayed at the hotel as part of a retreat with MindfulME and I was not disappointed. It was truly a wonderful time, the staff were so helpful, the food was delicious, the room was simple but lovely, in keeping with the character of the hotel. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again and I have already recommended it to friends...

Charming find in old Dubai! I would 100% recommend it:-) Lovely courtyard cafe with yummy food, tasteful rooms, and helpful staff. The art gallery adds to the great vibe. Powerful air-conditioning which is needed in Dubai.

Superb facility at the best prices. It was different and unconventional. But a very good experience altogether. The hotel is in bur dubai.the area is surrounded by cafes, museums and other similar hotels. Proximity to city centre is good.

I could not have been better treated or enjoyed my stay more. The staff was just great in accommodating every request. The room is up to date with fine facilities. The location is perfect, close to everything of interest and 5 minutes from the very clean and efficient metro trains/subway.

Staying in The Creek

Neighbourhood Profile
The Creek
The smell of frankincense hangs thick and heavy in the air, waves lap gently at jetties, and market traders call to passing tourists. The creek, originally the place where pearl boats docked and left on missions to uncover jewels from the deep, is where the city really began. The Al Fahidi District on the Creekside is one of the oldest heritage sites in Dubai, easily recognizable with its iconic wind towers, the original air conditioning. Home to the Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding and the Dubai Museum, the old buildings also house a range of cafes, shops and art galleries. Often called “the real Dubai,” this is a wonderful place to lose yourself before catching an abra across the creek to the spice souk, where your senses will be overwhelmed with tastes, smells, and sounds.

A stylish and peaceful boutique hotel, XVA is set within the heart of Al Fahidi quarter, formerly known as Bastakiya, the oldest region of Dubai. Unique for its Persian architectural heritage, its maze-like alleyways and proximity to the Creek, Al Fahidi is viewed today as one of the cultural centrepoints of Dubai. XVA occupies a renovated traditional majilis-style building, boasting original architectural motifs and wind towers and three open courtyards, in which one can relax and soak up the exceptional atmosphere of this heritage space. XVA’s Art Hotel includes twelve boutique rooms, designed by well-established designers and artists from the region. These include Zayan Ghandour, Numa, Nada Debs & Karim Rashid (Gaia&Gino). The XVA Art Hotel is covered in many national and international travel publications. Featured in Condé Nast Traveller as one of the 10 hotels to stay in Dubai and in 2006 as the number 1 “Not To Miss” spot in Dubai, Wallpaper magazine mentioned us as a boutique hotel to stay. Lonely planet listed us twice in their recent Dubai guide as a place to stay and to have lunch. For transit travellers, this hotel is ideal due to its close proximity to Dubai International airport. ... more   less
