Spent the day here having my Mother's Day treat while visiting Dubai. Absolutely beautiful luxury oasis and a world away from the hustle and bustle. Valet parking on arrival and beautiful decor and calm as you walk through the resort. My treat included a 50min massage and a pool pass. So while my husband and daughter made their way to...

Bab Al Shams is a fantastic place if you want to relax away from the bustle of Dubai. The architecture is lovely, the desert views nice, and the pool area is impressive. ROOM The rooms are quaint, in a "desert palace" style. Our room had a jacuzzi. The rooms are pretty dark, since they are protected agains too much sunshine....

Bab al Shams is in an amazing desert setting yet only 45 mins drive from the centre of Dubai. The hotel has a very tasteful Arabic theme, lovely rooms, stunning bathrooms, beautiful communal areas, restaurants and bars. The Arabic evening in Al Hadheera fort restaurant is a must-do and in a different league to the regular desert trips out of...

Room was absolutely stunning, with additional finishing touches making the stay extra special. Service from the staff was exceptional. Less than an hour from central Dubai this resort exudes old world charm but with very modern facilities. We were staying at this resort for a few days mid of March 2017. Hospitality, service level, quality of foods, fit out of the property, etc. all deserves a triple A. We would be happy to come back someday.

Very nice international food, with great variety. Brunch in a beautiful green garden, pool available. Great entertainment for kids (camel and pony rides, pets), jumping castle, live music etc. We liked most the paella and grill.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Translated from Arabic as "Gateway to the sun", the *award-winning 5-star Bab Al Shams Desert Resort & Spa is designed to resemble a fortified rural Arab village amidst the desert landscape. Featuring low-rise architecture, this sandy coloured style fort boasts the main tower with Reception area and lobby and clusters of two-storey buildings housing guest accommodation, restaurants, spa and meeting facilities interconnected by seemingly endless little walkways. The charm of Arabia is personified in every corner of the property with small lanes running through the hotel, scattered around ponds and secluded seating areas, shaded courtyards, water fountains and trickling streams bestowing the feel of cool tranquillity. The abundance of green garden areas and manicured lawns adds to the quiet and soothing environment of the resort. The rustic Arabian theme of exterior design continues to flow in the carefully selected interior decorations and settings featuring uncovered natural stone floors, bare plastered walls, dark wood and iron fixtures, warm dimmed lighting and an abundance of artefacts showcased throughout the property. The resort boasts 113 rooms and suites offering cosy accommodation in an authentic Arabian style with majority of the rooms having a private terrace. All guest rooms and public areas have complimentary Wi-Fi access. *World's Leading Desert Resort, World Travel Awards. ... more   less
