We arrived at Andaz The Palm after a week long stay in downtown Dubai. It has a welcoming modern reception and get a much more relaxed vibe as soon as you walk in. When we checked-in, to our Andaz Suite, we noticed that the room we had booked which was an ‘un-obstructed sea view’ was a view of the wall and the busy road on the first floor, however when we brought this up they moved us to a room with a partial sea view but were unable to give us the room we had booked as there are none like this due to large apartment blocks on either side of the building. These apartment blocks are quite an eyesore and don’t be mistaken that the apartments were there before the resort and the hotel guests are able to use the apartment blocks communal pool. It is not Andaz owned. The pool is surrounded by nannies walking kids and chatting and is not a pleasany atmosphere at all. There is a beach which is quite bland, and maybe some sort of beach bar or andaz base would be good as to get towels or to get back to the hote is easily a 7 min walk. There is an adults only pool at the roof of the building which is nice however it is still nothing special. What dissapointed us the most was the breakfast. It lacked choice, the quality of the food was mostly poor and the service was extremely lacking. The hotel is just accross the road from Nakheel Mall which is a nice spot for lunch or essentials. In conclusion, it is a resort that is not on-par with many other high end resorts on The Palm and hope that they can build on this as the hotel ages.

Had 8 good days at Andaz. A relatively new hotel where everything still looks really nice and new. The rooms are large and with nice colors and functionality. The staff was generally also nice and attentive. The location is really good in relation to the beach (private beach, however, you share with the apartment complex which is right next door) and opposite a large new shopping center. But beyond that, it is relatively far to everything else and requires a taxi.

As my first time to Dubai, and of course Andaz Palm Hotel, I was nicely surprised with my choice based only on photos and reviews. The Hotel is in a great location, kinda of in the middle, easy to get to Atlantis by Monorail( for kids) also walking across the street to the very elegant mall( a big plus, don't have to drive ).The hotel is more like a mixture between a Boutique and a resort Hotel. Small enough that staff call you by your name, but with a lot of amenities-superb pool( even shared with other 2 residences)and an amazingly Clean, private and safe Beach. I have to start with the excellent Breakfast -Thank you Chef Ambedkar(also dinner buffet). Reception-very nice service by Jonathan(learning that my Birthday is on the 8 of February, he sent a very tasty cake and nice card to our room , thoughtfull surprise), Esteban-both from Costa Rica speaking excellent English, polite and knowledgeable. Amir , at the entrance, helped us a lot, due to Covid regulations normal taxis will transport only 2 people, us being 3, had to special order mini vans or SUV, he was the one ordering them for us and gave us a lot of very helpful info. And the last thing( sorry for my long story, but was my first time and I was very impressed) take Safari trip and maybe you'll have Ben as Guide-a crack up dude. Recommandations:better communication skills for the serving staff-harder to understand w masks on. A better longer hours for the Bars- alcohol is served only in bars and restaurants. We stayed 7 nights, 2 Thumbs UP!
