This place is in the most beautiful area. We arrived by boat on the Mekong and as you walk up the riverbank you are met with the most amazingly gorgeous view. Incredible setting in some rice fields surrounded by Laos Jungle. The lodge really feels like part of the local community. The village tour is a must and the local...

Kamu Lodge was a great experience for all of us (4 adults and 4 kids). We were lucky enough to be alone in the hotel, so the kids could do all the noise they wanted !!! Activities were great, especially the swim with the kids from the village. Tents very nice. We also tested the massage with the view on...

A remote stop on our trip down the Mekong which surprisingly quite enjoyed, the rooms are large tents with a good bathroom, beds have mossie nets and are comfortable. You definitely need a torch here and good shoes if wet for the paths.OK for 1 night and the activities ok but a bit 'set up'. the massage, so i was...

This is a remote stop on a slow cruise down the Mekong. Accommodation is in individual combination tent/cabins, simple but with everything you would need for a stay - with the probable exception of air conditioning (and it was hot, but don't travel in Laos if you prefer the cold!). However this is a remote Eco lodge in a very...

This is very expensive place to visit! Activities were cut short due to rain! Bugs crawling through food because no method used to deter. Bright lights in a restaurant encouraging bugs so truly back to nature. Food was bland! White bread, jam, banana and eggs for breakfast. So many bugs in the beds that we used nearly a full bottle...

Dear babsI66, Sunny greetings from Luang Prabang... We understand that you did not fully enjoy Kamu Lodge during your stay. It is to be noted that during your stay, Luang Prabang had been hit by typhoon Kalmaegi. Obviously as stated we have had to face very heavy rain. Kamu Lodge sits in the rain forest where there are insects too....

We were the only guests when we stayed at this lodge, and perhaps that was the reason the activities were cut short. Each of rice planting, net-fishing and archery was just for 5 minutes and it's ridiculours to call that 'eco experience'. The visit to the village was interesting though the school was unfortunately closed for summer holidays. Some of...

The trip up the Mekong is very relaxing with stunning views. Kamu Lodge is not as basic as you might think and in fact very comfortable - and does feel as though you are in the middle of the jungle. The activities are a simple but enjoyable glimpse into living in the jungle. The caves on the way back were...

Wanna really get away? Head to Kamu Lodge. No WiFi, no cell service, limited electricity... but breathtaking scenery and a rather comfortable sleep upriver on the banks of the Mekong. The staff were very friendly and down-to-Earth people. Visiting the Khmu village nearby was the highlight for me. But let's get something straight, this is not your "typical" village in...

We stayed here on the second night of our trip down the Mekong. A different world and nothing to do with Luang Prabag (it is half a day away).
