This was our second visit to The Apsara as we stayed there four years previous. We had an upstairs room in a building a couple of doors away from the main Hotel. The Room was of a fair size but the bathroom area was a little crammed. They do not provide extras like tea, coffee, fruit etc and the breakfast...

The hotel is a conversion of a 1960s warehouse with generous room space and individual styling and balcony views over the Nam Khan. It is ideally situated away from the nightlife but only a short walk away. The staff were courteous and helpful and happy to oblige. Breakfast was good and so were snacks. Dinner was a touch expensive but...

My fiance and I spent a week at the downstairs rooms of apsara hotel, we had a great stay. From the friendly staff to great room, we were not disappointed. The location is also great too, very huge bathroom and delicious food. The hotel has arrangements with tuktuk drivers which ensure you get a good deal on trips to the...

What a disappointment. We had read such great things about the Apsara, but were shocked to see what our money bought. Having just paid $70/night for an outstanding hotel in Hanoi, we were amazed to find that $130 at the Apsara didn't buy us much (and in fact the room was of a lower standard). We rented bikes for $5,...

We spent 4 nights here and loved every minute. We had an upstairs room overlooking the Nam Khan river with a tiny balcony but big enough to sit on and watch the world go by. The room was spacious ,and well eqipped with everything we needed including hair dryer and safe and very comfortable. There is also free wi-fi in...

We've been here twice before and our third visit was just as good. We stayed seven nights which just about says it all. Rooms are chic and comfortable. Bathroom have lovely showers. The room price includes breakfast which is very memorable -warm lightly toasted baguettes, home made jams, Lao coffee and eggs if you want them. The service is first...

We stayed at the Apsara for 4 nights in a standard upstairs room and we were very happy with our stay. The rooms were lovely and the breakfast that was included was delicious. The location was great as it only took 5 minutes to walk to the main street and markets. The staff were all very professional and helpful. The...

One of our favorite hotels during our nine week journey thru SEAsia. It was a gem. The lobby /restaurant was filled with good modern art, Asian lighting, 1940's jazz and swing music. It had a lovely east meets west lounge aura. Our room was large with a comfortable bed, and splendid view of the Nam Khan river. Breakfast was ordered...

We stayed at the Apsara over Chinese New Year and loved it. I must say that the photos don't do it justice. I was pleasantly surprised by our room which was a downstairs standard room. As a lot of the reviews mention already - the bed was amazing! The bathroom was also really great. The staff were lovely and attentive....

First of all - what a wonderful part of town. Much quieter than the central street but lovely views and lots of eating and drinking options. Rooms were comfy, nice big bed. Would've liked a mosquito net so I had the option to open the windows as it was quite cool when we were there. Instead we had to use...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The first and still one of the most beautiful boutique hotels in Luang Prabang, the Apsara was originally a rice warehouse situated on the banks of the Nam Khan [The quieter side of town]. The Apsara is also right in the heart of the heritage village, making it the perfect place to stay. From the comfort of its large, airy bedrooms, rated by the Washington Post as "an inch beyond decadence", it's easy to explore temples and the lanes of Luang Prabang. After which you can relax on the river terrace and enjoy the spectacular views and a refreshing Beer Laos. But that's not all, our restaurant is well known for having one of the most interesting menus in town as well as a superb wine list and the driest martinis in Laos. As Hip Hotels said "Both the restaurant and bar reflect a refined sense of taste" and who are we to argue with that. ... more   less
