The word was spread in the press and social media that Luang Prabang had lost its soul. As a visitor to the city numerous times since 1971, I was fearful of my visit on 6-8 March 2016. I should not have been. The soul of Luang Prabang is at the Grand Luang Prabang Hotel. The hotel is located next to...

The place was absolutely stunning. With breakfast served by the river and balconies showcasing the gorgeous gardens. I loved it here but a few things that could be improved Most of the staff don't speak even a conversational amount of English so ordering anything in the restaurant or trying to get room service or anything of the like can be...

This was the second hotel in a three week trip to Southeast Asia. Although all of the hotels on my stay were good, this one was excellent. The only reason I gave it a "very good" above is the ride from town which was through some construction and quite dusty in the TukTuk. The hotel itself however was excellent. From...

Great hotel with beautiful grounds, Never thought I'd sleep along the banks of the Mekong, but I did and it was terrific. The lotus ponds outside the rooms were a joy to photograph, and the staff very helpful.

Fabulous property on the Mekong River, extraordinarily beautiful site, particularly at breakfast and sunset. Lovely, helpful staff. A little ways out of town, restful but a journey into town. Rooms are quite nice and newly renovated but not superluxe. Herd of pet water buffaloes on the grounds.

This place is very beautiful, maybe a bit on the older side. The sound proofing was not so good (hearing neighbour-kids run past and voices about). It's views in the morning are spectacular. You sit at breakfast and just watch the world (river, boats, clouds, etc.) roll-by. It is a few kilometers (5?) from town, the price for the view...

Our group of 5 was all the occupants of this beautiful hotel.for three days. There were more staffs than customers. However, despite all this, the hotel did not compromise on the service and maintenance. Beautiful place to stay indeed.

Situated along the banks of the Mekong River, this is a gorgeous property, with mountain and river and garden views from the rooms. I had a spacious room in the back of the hotel near the river, and with the terrace on the first floor it was so relaxing. It was difficult to get a wifi signal in the room...

Our small group (5 of us) stayed here as part of a tour of Laos. Try as I might, I can't find any fault with the hotel, with the possible exception of being far away from the action (however, this makes it very quiet as well). The staff is exceptional - one of the friendliest corps of hotel staffers I've...

The hotel is the only one in the area on the Mekong. It has recently been bought by a Thai group. The rooms are adequate, the gardens are lovely, the (infinity) swimming pool is excellent (especially when the water buffalo walk by) and the location of the restaurant on the Mekong is a dream. However, the very willing staff is,...
