The Villa Chitdara is a little laid-back, like the whole of Luang Prabang. It is situated half way between the Mekong and Nam Kan Rivers, and a few minutes away from the main street at the end of which the night market takes place. The building is sort of colonial French, built mainly of highly polished wood. The rooms are...

In a quiet sidestreet, yet close enough to all the action to reach pretty much everything within a five minute walk. The rooms are small, but very comfortable. Very clean. Good lighting to be able to read in the comfortable bed. A small balcony with a table and two chairs. Capable aircon and a ceiling fan. Hot water in the...

This place is magical, friendly, welcoming, comfortable, convenient - and hosts that has been the best experience in Laos so far. It is walking distance from the river, night markets, temples and restaurants. The monks also pass here in the mornings for Alms Giving. I would highly recommend this hotel. The breakfast is great and there is free WiFi. Even...

We walked in to the hotel around 7.30 PM after arrival at Luang Prabang airport as we purposely did not book in advance due to confusion created by the ranking system of reviews on this site.We had faced a dilemma earlier by booking in advance depending entirely on the ranking system.Of course we had checked availability of the rooms through...

This is a great place to stay. The staff is friendly. The woman manager is friendly and manages the guesthouse well. She speaks only a few words English which is a pity. But her French is very good. The guesthouse is quite and build up with beautiful wood. The former beautiful garden disappeared I'm 2016. A new villa building was...

Dear Leo V, Greetings from Villa Chitdara. My mother is always taking care of our customers. She really insists our customers feel like at home. She is trying to improve her English but she said it is not so easy ;) We used to live in French few years ago and we have now moved to our hometown. The new...

The rooms as this lovely guest house have beautiful teak furniture. The place was quiet and comfortable, very centrally located, and the staff very friendly and helpful. Included breakfast was very good, with some options and some items that are relatively unusual in this area.

This is small but beautiful guest house, friendly staff and lovely room. We stayed here for 2 nights, it is near the main street and easy to walk to night market and taste local food. Dont forget to get up in morning to view the monks collect food from local people.

I only stayed one night but I liked it here. Very clean, presentable rooms with their own balcony. Excellent location, good wifi, room safe, fridge and TV. Easy walk to the Mekong river and to town. Mini mart on the corner of the road and do try Khaiphaen which is a restaurant around the corner - it's really good. Recommended.

We stayed at Chitdara for 6 nights with 2 nights away midway when they safely looked after our bags. Great location in the centre of town, clean rooms with balconies, lovely garden and good breakfast. Welcoming, helpful staff. Would definitely recommend.

We stayed here for three nights and right from the outset we felt very welcome. The property only has 12 rooms, 6 on the ground floor and 6 on the first floor. It is built in traditional style with an obvious Colonial French influence, The rooms are compact but have everything you need, they are clean and well furnished, each...
