I had a very comfortable stay here despite the music from the bar downstairs and the railway. The location is OK and the breakfast is quite acceptable. The peculiarity that I didn't understand at first is that they provide small casks for drinking water and you are supposed to get them refilled at the lobby or breakfast area. The room was clean and spacious and the staff very nice.
The rooms are the most dirty I have been to. When we checked in, some rooms in the hotel were being renovated and The floors are dirty with soot and walls filled with strong smell of paint. The whole room is also dusty, towels are dirty, lights not working, etc. There are plenty of mosquitoes in the room. There are stains on the bed frame and the ceiling access panels in the toilet were missing. How can they be selling rooms in this kind of condition? Don’t get fooled by the pics you saw in the website as these were likely taken when the rooms are new. Except for the helpful staff, there’s absolutely nothing ‘amazing’ about the hotel. There’s a lot of regret booking this hotel!
I had the misfortune of staying in this hotel for one night. The photos in the website is grossly misleading. I must say that Tripadvisor and travel agencies have a moral obligation to its clients to portray an accurate detail of the hotels. The hotel should have been closed down. The rooms were so run down and smelt mouldy and the bathrooms had fungus, in one room a portion of the ceiling collapsed. Fortunately it did not fall on the couple sleeping in the bed. The air-conditioning in the dining area was not functioning and the fans were not functioning too. It was mosquito infested and there was a disturbing noise from the karoake joint nearby all night. For the safely of customers, this hotel should be closed down or renovated before opening to the public.
Came to the hotel, it was highly rated, but counter help barely spoke English, rooms were ok, but very dated and power went out several times a day, advertised breakfast came with room, we were given a menu to ask which breakfast we would want, menu said bacon, sausage, fresh fruit....but never gave us bacon, or fresh fruit....all in all it was a below average hotel, would recommend staying somewhere else
We stayed for 2 nights in March 2019 at Hotel Amazing Mandalay. The room was quite large, nice decor and clean. Some mosquitos in the hotel complex but our room was sprayed each evening to help with this. My only negative on the room was the light that came in from outside our door, which was very bright and lit up the room, due to a windowlight which was above the door that didnt have any block out feature. No lift in this hotel, however hotel staff assisted with carrying luggage upstairs. We didnt venture beyond the hotel as we had full day tours and were quite exhausted. Together with the traffic on this busy road we chose to eat at the onsite restaurant after enjoying some cocktails. Breakfast which was included was average, we chose american breakfast.
