Although the hotel is a bit dated, but room was clean and staff is friendly. It was a good place for us to begin our journey. We arrived after an overnight flight and were pleased with the hotel's location next to Mandalay Hill. Needing to stretch our legs we walked over, 5 minutes and then climbed the stairs to the...

Lovely old style hotel, where we stayed for 2 nights. Rooms are fairly small but well equipped. Wifi is a bit temperamental but works enough. The gardens and pool area are really beautiful. We had one dinner at the Chinese restaurant. Local wine was poor. The fish was dry and not enough sweet & sour sauce, but curry dishes were...

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights following our Irrawaddy cruise. The room was comfortable and the staff were great. The restaurant food did not come up our expectations. However, the Kipling Bar and Cigar Room were a pleasant surprise. My partner had his first cigar in 20odd years and was delighted by its quality. The pool was fantastic.

We stayed here for one night after a cruise on the Irrawaddy. There is a huge foyer with a pleasant bar area to one side where we had a pleasant drink while sitting in old fashioned armchairs which were very comfortable.. On the other side of the foyer was the large dining room where we had excellent buffet dinner and breakfast....

This hotel has great views, a wonderful if cool swimming pool, good breakfasts and helpful staff. The food is good and not overpriced taking into account it is an expensive tourist hotel. Useful happy hour from 6-8 for drinks!

We stayed here prior to taking a river cruise and were very impressed. While this can be a bustling city, the hotel location is well away from the city noise so any room location is fine; ours faced the pool and hill. The room was a good size with a nice bathroom; we found the beds comfortable. The breakfast buffet...

We stayed 1 night after a irrawaddy cruise. We found the staff excellent. They helped me with my computer when I could not conect to wifi. They organised a taxi for us to go to town at a very resonable rate. The spa treatment was very up to standard. Would definately recommend this hotel when in Mandalay.

Spent 2 nights here at the start of a tour of Myanmar. The hotel is starting to look like it could do with a refurbishment but is not yet too tired. Breakfast buffet was excellent. Evening meals pretty good too. Service was very good.
