Very charming, You feel you are living in the 19th century but with all the modern world comfort. Beautiful & clean rooms. Great customer Service. Great view from the water-front rooms. Walking distance to the Alexandria downtown area.

The hotel was so vintage to the point of smelling dust. The view is beautiful from the roof top. If you're having a city view room, don't ever open the window. Breakfast is average. Washrooms toilet covers get never stay up alone, you have to hold them.

Alexandria is a great city where you can enjoy by any means. Although the hotel was not that good but I enjoyed my stay. I stayed for one night in a junior suite which was a big room with a sofa and a desk. The view of the sea was awesome ( try to book in upper floors ) but...

I chose to stay here since I love vintage hotels, and it was a considerably cheap 4 stars, also because Steigenberger's Cecil (which I stayed at before) had no availability.. The pictures on booking here are completely deceiving.. the whole hotel is dirty and rundown.. the reception area is poor, dirty, dimly lit, lots of the light bulbs are either...

Location is great. Original structure and interior design is very special. But a high level of neglect is apparent everywhere. Service and quality of everything below average. The Hotel can be great with some maintenance and well trained staff and attention to quality. The towels are grey, not white. The furniture is neglected, the cabinets do not close properly. Breakfast...

Quite possibly the worst hotel experience I have ever had! Check in was slow and incomprehensible - the staff member clearly didn't know what he was doing - took about 35 minutes to check in. I booked a junior suite with sea view (room 114) - certainly not a suite - just a large room with a bed and a...

The pictures and description on booking sites look fascinating, but the reality is extremely frustrating. The good: - The staff are nice and friendly. - The terrace cafe has a lovely view. The bad: - The furnishing is poor for a hotel with this price and claimed class. Just because you have a historical building doesn't mean you get to...
