Some friends had already chosen this hotel for their stay at the conclusion of our sailing/cycling holiday, and after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor we were happy to join them. The location in the heart of the old centre of Split was the perfect base for exploration. Our room was very comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful....

We booked Hotel Slavija after reading reviews on Trip Advisor and even then had our expectations surpassed. For its price point and offerings, the hotel deserves 5/5. A contemporary setting in an historical building (breakfast is served in the old palace baths). Some rooms have spacious terraces and we were unknowingly upgraded due to availability. Room was otherwise clean and...

I had seen this on tripadvisor and wrote it down in case we went to Split on our journey around croatia. We got in late and weren't sure if we could find it and decided we would just get a room wherever we could. However we found it by pure chance and they had a room availible. I can't say...

As a solo traveler, I cannot praise this hotel enough. Service: sincerely outstanding. Very helpful, all shifts. They even handley laundry. Location: inside Diocletian's Palace walls. Palace, art museum, promenade, bus station and even archaeological museum all right there or a short walk away. Room: clean, very comfortable, open window for fresh air & street sounds; close it and complete...

Right int the old town sonit was very easy to get around. Staff couldnt be more helpful. Breakfast was basic but very lovely. The triple room was large and spacious albeit sligtly cold. Wifi was fast and as it rightwithin the palace there were lots of restaurants within easy reach.

The hotel is in a great location. The rooms are modern and clean. The hotel was doing renovations during the time that we were there so the breakfast room was very cramped but that is understandable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I would go back there.

Hotel Slavija is located in a very convenient location, within the walls of Diocletian Palace. It is newly renovated and thus very clean and new. The room itself isnt spectacular but it is clean and modern. However what differentiates it from other hotels that I had stayed in before is the service level of its staff. Special thanks to Mirjana...

Modern light decoration –generally attractive fixtures and fittings. Great location (Split is fantastic to explore). Very helpful staff, responsive and enthusiastic service. Reasonable price. Breakfast area is a bit of a squeeze – works are in progress so this may change. Some minor imperfections in the cleaning and electrical systems – probably just a little unlucky because the staff seemed...

This hotel is within the walls Diocletian Palace making it the perfect place to walk to/see everything Split has to offer. The staff was extremely friendly and eager to help. The hotel has been modernized and includes breakfast with your stay. This is not a luxury hotel (Ritz) but it's nice. The room was spacious and updated. The beds were...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hotel Slavija is type of a heritage hotel due to its location, history and protection by Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Croatia and UNESCO. The Diocletian's Palace was built in the middle of the 3rd century AD, while the Hotel Slavija was built inside its walls, above the Emperor's western baths. Therefore, it can be concluded that the building of the hotel influenced the protection of the Baths from the devastation. With time the building of the hotel expanded, and from the Baroque palace it became today's Hotel Slavija. Hotel Slavija is under the protection of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Croatia, and in part is protected by the UNESCO. The location in the very center of the town makes Hotel Slavija an ideal choice for a stay in Split, surrounded by all relevant historical buildings of the city of Split, including the Temple of Jupiter, the St. Duje Cathedral, the Milesi palace... It is ideal place for both business and pleasure travelers because of its location. Hotel is situated in the very center of the city and is but a few minutes walk from all the major attractions as well as from the main bus terminal, airport shuttle terminal, railway station and ferry. The hotel has 25 rooms and each room is air conditioned, with private bath, hair dryer, satellite TV, Internet connection and direct dial telephone. Some of the rooms are with terraces and Hotel is especially proud to present them because, terraces are rarity in the old part of Split. In the lobby of the hotel is Internet Hot spot, which is free for hotel guests. We also provide faxing, copying, printing and scanning, as well as laundry service. ... more   less
