We had a lovely high-ceilinged room with Spanish colonial decor and king bed for a reasonable price. An elegant breakfast with a number of choices, including eggs benedictine and hearty combinations, was served on the open terrace upstairs, with soothing views of gardens and volcanoes. It's an intimate place with less than ten rooms, all individully designed, and attentive staff. We felt quite secure, and the value was excellent for Antigua, where some places are more pretense than pleasure.
It was a great stay! We stayed for my friend's wedding and all got ready on the rooftop (makeup and hair people came in). Cute place. Pool is really the size of a tub fyi. Couple of channels on the tv. Rooftop was small but cute. I think it's a little expensive considering all the other amazing places/airbnbs in the area that are way less expensive and offer a bit more space/amenities but overall it was fine - the people are very helpful and sweet too.
We booked all the rooms at this hotel for a family wedding. It was beautiful! Every room was clean and decorated differently. The staff were all so sweet. They went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. One morning we ordered breakfast and they delivered it to the rooftop so we could enjoy the views. Couldn’t have asked for a better way to start our morning. You are also able to order food from a neighboring hotel restaurant and they are prompt with delivery. My husband and I stayed in the suite and it was perfect! Very spacious with a comfortable bed. Although we didn’t use it, it came with a jacuzzi. Everything about this place exceeded our expectation.
Casa Encantada is a lovely hotel with a beautiful setting and rooftop. While my room was on the street side and noisy at certain times of the day, it was fine. The hotel was further from the main square than I anticipated. I don’t speak Spanish, so found it sometimes difficult to communicate with the staff, although they tried their best.
I recently returned to Guatemala for the first time in three years for work and this time was traveling with my boss and my assistant, neither had been to the country before. In the past I stayed at the Casa Buena Vista but wanted something a bit nicer without being too fancy or ostentatious. I came across the Casa Encantada on TripAdvisor and was really pleased with my choice. The property is small and intimate, which I prefer for a touristy destination like Antigua. I had dinner one night at Casa Encantada's sister hotel, Hotel Portal, and although the property is very nice it felt almost too big. We each had standard rooms at Casa Encantada. The rooms themselves have antique-looking furniture and are completely adequate for one person, however it might be a bit cramped for two. I did like the step-down shower as well as the amount of counter space in the bathroom. The garden with the pool/fountain and two reclining wooden deck chairs was really nice. It provides a little oasis just after you enter the hotel. I also was fascinated by the two rooms on the west side of the property that you access by stepping on stones that are surrounded by a shallow amount of water. I don't know if these are nicer, more expensive rooms, however I would request one of these as they're removed from the rest of the hotel. I highly recommend getting the bed-and-breakfast rate because the two breakfasts I had were excellent. Really high-quality food, presentation, and service. The best part is eating on the rooftop terrace – it was a highlight of my trip. And the coffee was very tasty too (I have very high standards in that department!).…
I booked this hotel for 4 days last week. This hotel is CLOSED they sent me to the Hotel Porta Antigua . Call before you book the hotel is currently closed and a worker that worked at the hotel said she was not sure when the hotel would be opened!!When I knocked on the door of the hotel they said the hotel is NOT ready to be opened!! You can currently book it online but if you plan on staying here not the hotel is CLOSED!!!!
It’s a great location within walking distance. Beautiful property, and the access of the sister property is wonderful. The buffet at La Porta, the sister property is second to none. I would recommend this place to my family and friends. The only issue is, the morning and afternoon traffic from Antigua to GUA can be quite heavy, up to two hours. Keep this in mind with flights, as I missed one of mine.
This was quite possibly the cutest boutique hotel I have ever stayed in, and I've stayed in A LOT. It's quaint, quiet and relaxing but you also have access to the larger resort across the street so can enjoy some additional amenities like restaurant, bar and pool (but Casa Encantada also has a pool!). The room was small but we never spend much time in the room when exploring a new city so that doesn't matter. It was well decorated and comfortable. The staff were all very friendly as well! The breakfast on the rooftop was also delicious and it was so nice to soak up the sun on the rooftop every morning. You can pretty much walk all of Antigua so the location is perfect and not on a super busy street. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Antigua!
Fabulous boutique hotel with a staff that couldn't be more wonderful! I would like to thank Melvin, Karen and many others whom I can't remember. I highly recommend Casa Encantada to stay in the most beautiful colonial town in Latin America.
Great service and perfect location for us. We have stayed a couple of times and will definitely look to use again. It was very convenient for our needs. The central square is close enough but you are not right on top of it.
