From the re-use of a centuries old building, great location just out of the center of town, an attentive staff and owner, and help with any and all things we needed, all the ratings and photos do not do this property justice. Made our first visit to Antigua memorable and meaningful.

What a magical stay. The small, 5 room hotel is exceptional and attentive to many details. The rooms are wonderful and authentic in decor. The staff is attentive and so helpful. Front desk/concierge staff Frida was wonderful and so helpful. The owner Julio was fabulous to interact with, so much history.

We stayed with all of my family at Sor Juana and we han an incredible time. Everything was wonderful!! The rooms are awesome, spacious and full of details. The service was superb. We felt at home. The views from the terrace are spectacular. At night we saw the eruption of a nearby volcano and breakfast at the terrace was very... More

Hotel Sor Juana in Antigua, Guatemala is a charming inn built in the 1500's that has been decorated in a modern way while maintaining the old architecture and design. It has a gorgeous main level courtyard and a lovely rooftop terrace offering views of Fuego and Agua. This inn is within walking distance to everything and they have a shuttle... More

We have been traveling quite a lot and stayed in very good hotels and still there is something very unique and special with Sor Juana. A tasteful combination of modern design and the old heritage of the original convent building. Julio, Frida ( like Frida Kalo) and the team were kind and helpful. Our long conversation with Julio during the... More

The whole staff is friendly,  but Julio is unique.  He is just incredible.  He intensively took care of us and helped with everything.  Always prompt and available. We have been upgraded without asking for.  This is generosity!!! The place is beautiful and has a very nice terrace with a view of the volcano, which is also used for breakfast.  It... More

The hotel is located at walking distance from the central plaza, so it is very quiet and good to avoid the noise of the plaza. The facilities are beautiful, decoration great and the staff very helpful. It offers paid self-parking two blocks from the hotel, which is a luxury in Antigua where parking is scarce. From the terrace you have... More

This is a beautiful small hotel built into the ruins on the Concepion convent. The rooms are comfortable with modern bathrooms but still plenty of colonial touches. The rooftop terrace, where you get your breakfast, is truly lovely and has amazing views. But what really sets this hotel apart is the incredible staff. They are so accommodating. Want a last... During our trip through Central America, we stayed at the Sor Juana twice and we were really impressed. The first time we arrived very late because our shuttle van had broken down. We were tired after an almost 11 hour trip, had not eaten for quite some while and were not able to get something decent to eat in town... More
