We stayed up the hill, at the Santo Cielo by Casa Santo Domingo suites, not in the main hotel. These are luxury trailers in the woods and looked unique enough to try. 1st, I give a 5 star review but in all honesty, it was not a 5 star experience. I'll list my con's below. However, I would give a...

I came to this hotel first time in 1993. I have stayed here probably over 10 times since then and have bit of a emotional connection with the place. I watched it develop over the years to full blown resort type hotel with a museum, church / chapel, conference facilities, spa etc. It is a nice place to stay, but...

an amazing hotel cum museum with a great restaurant. Rather than repeating what others have said I would simply say if you go to Antigua please stay here - you wont regret it ! Awesome food and service in the restaurant - the best black bean soup on the planet.

We first visited this hotel in 1999 and decided to come back with our children in December 2017. The hotel has not changed very much. It is a beautiful setting with gardens, museums, crypts, silverware exhibition, candle workshop and pottery workshop, and I'm sure I've forgotten a few other things! My family enjoyed the wellness centre gym while I enjoyed...

Beautiful, unlike anywhere else you'll ever stay. We managed to get a really great deal to stay here both on our way into Antigua (at Santo Cielo, the gorgeous Airstream "camp" on a hill overlooking the town) and when we came back from Monterrico (that night we were in the main complex, beside the monastery ruins). It's like traveling back...

When you enter the halls of this innovative hotel/museum, you enter another "world." The colonial decor, manicured gardens, works of art on walls, and the archeological findings were once a convent for nuns of the order of Santo Domingo de Guzman. If you don't stay at the hotel, you can still walk around and even take in a meal at...

A beautiful property with a lot of art pieces around. Nice landscaped gardens on this vast property. We didn't stay overnight and went only for lunch. Simple but hearty Guatemalan lunch of rice, beans, fried bananas, guacamole, chicken fried and beef. Lovely desserts. I don't know the name but they tasted like the spanish churos. Will definitely stay if back...

Centrally located hotel in Antigua. The service was very attentive. The hotel is clean, modern and has a lot to see. The spa was a pleasant surprise with its private pool and hot tubes and great lounging. Was very accommodating for families. :)

We had a wedding at the hotel. It was like movies. All guests were blown away. The food was beyond fantastic. The service was excellent. Our only complaint was that they were not willing to give us a block of rooms for our guests because the wedding was during the holidays. The other complaint was that they had promised us...

This hotel hasn't changed in 16 years... or for that matter a few hundred. It still caters to older tourists (I mean seniors) and young people who spend silly money to stay here because of it's name and apparent lustre. It is the least fun of most accomodation in Antigua and is more like an open-air overly polished museum than...
