I am all about the view and I have been seeking out the best spots in the area. Miravalle is a gem! The grounds, particularly the fountains, could use some love, but I barely noticed with the view of the volcanoes. The best part was the combination of the view with the food! It was affordable, service was great and the food beat expectations! Hobbitenango and Altamira are nice to go to once...but they are a rip off. Casa Miravalle is somewhere I will go regularly to eat. They really did impress me with the quality of the dining experience overall. We got the tabla para compartir and it was more than two people could eat and cost roughly the same as just the entrance fee to hobbitenango (which includes nothing). If you don't care about the Instagram tourist attractions of the other area spots, I highly recommend a relaxing morning here! Oh, and there wasn't a huge, obnoxious crowd :)

We were staying at a nearby Airbnb that didn’t have any dining options, so we decided to give Miravalle a try for breakfast. The food was so good — and the prices so reasonable — that we came right back the next morning! Beautiful views, al fresco dining, good service, nice music ... this place has it all! Looking forward to coming back!

A group of friends and I went to spend the evening at the restaurant at hotel miravalle on a Saturday evening. Besides the excellent service the sunset view was one of the best I have ever seen. The food and drinks were very good too. I loved the atmosphere I would definitely go back!

Amazing volcano views, moderate prices, good food! Excellent solution for dining out on Saturday morning or celebrating your wedding. Very close to Antigua, so if you are staying overnight it is possible to go dancing. Just do not drink too much to prevent yourself from road accidents.

We only visited during lunch, but asked to see the well-decorated rooms for future visits, and loved the fact that each room has a fantastic view of the valley below and the volcanoes in the distance. One of the suites even has a full kitchen and living room. The staff were very nice and helpful. The food was very good. We recommend it!

I went there with my girlfriend for one night. First of all I have to mention the amazing view, you can see 2 volcanoes and La antigua Guatemala. Then they gave me my room that was decorated with flowers and candles. We ordered dinner and wine from the restaurant and it was pretty good. The overall experience was excellent for the price I paid. I would recommend it for couples.

My wife and I went for an over night stay. We were very pleased. This property is out of the way. It s only 10 minutes from Antigua but seems like you are a million miles away from anywhere. The staff was very friendly. The food was good but nothing extraordinary. The rooms are fantastic with the best views!! If you have any physical issues it may not be for you as you have quite a hike to get to your room, but otherwise it was a great experience. Loved the Peacocks on the property!!

Poor quality food, Don't ask for Italian food, the restaurant is full of flies The waitress is kind, but they have serious problem with chef ... Fudge cheese is liquid ... Not real cheese! The view of the mountains it's beautiful... I recommend just to get a Coke and enjoy the view.

I've stayed in this hotel a number of times, and had consistently good experiences. The rooms are very clean, spacious, and staff is accommodating, although you may not find many English speakers in this remote area of the country. The hotel is the best in the region, and the restaurant downstairs has a nice menu with many options. I've had some good meals there as well. This location is used for graduations and celebrations by many locals, and is one of the best in the San Marcos/ San Pedro area. For about $25 a night (single person) it's a great deal. They charge by the number of persons in the room, not necessarily the number of beds, so as a single, I get a double or queen bed with a private, clean bathroom. Free wifi too. The area is mountainous, often foggy, and cold. The typical architecture is cement block, concrete and tile, so most buildings are cold and somewhat drafty. There are no air conditioners in the rooms (I've never needed one no matter what time of year), nor are there heaters, which would be nice. I usually sleep with a jacket and sometimes scarf around my head and/or shoulders. The front desk is happy to provide extra blankets if requested. This is a good resource if you're in the region, and other desirable choices for an America or person who prefers a certain level of hotel are few and far between.

One of the best views of the valley around Antigua, Guatemala accessible by car that I have found. The hotel is small (6 rooms) and built into the hillside. The restaurant is small, but appropriately sized for the hotel. The menu, while not extensive, was well-balanced for each meal-time. All of the descriptions sounded delicious and the food I had was prepared appropriately. The rooms are nicely finished and furnished and comfortable for relaxing and enjoying the exquisite view. The staff was very friendly and service prompt. The gardens are well kept and the peacocks that live on the property are fun to watch. It's hard to believe the hustle and bustle of such a lively city as Antigua is only 10 minutes away from this luscious solitude.
