I had a great time in OX Basecamp. It is nice to relax and hang out. I really liked the terrace and the rooftop where you can do some yoga. Moreover you have a great view and during the night it is impressive when fuego goes off and you can watch it from there. Moreover, the breakfast is really tasty...

If you find absolutely no pleasure in sleeping then you have come to the right place. The only explanation I can find for the camp 1 room is that it was made by an insomniac seeking revenge. It also gets a little chilli at night and the light blanket they gave you at the third bunk bed doesn't help at...

Fairly simple but the netflix room is awesome to chill in after a long day, a great home comfort, the rooms are clean, the included breakfast is simple but super super tasty (I never got tired of it) and the cook Maribel is lovely. I wanted to take her home with me. Sometimes the trips leaving in the morning can...

My stay at the Base Camp Hostel was ok, and the price was very good value. The bed was comfortable, the showers warm and overall a clean hostel. Drinking water and breakfast is provided. I stayed in a four person dorm, I was so glad I didn't stay in the room with beds 3 levels high as it would be...

I spend several nights in Basecamp and had a good time. I was staying here for a trip to Acatenango. It is not a party hostel wat is good if you want to take some rest before a trip or after a long flight. Just hang out in the hammock or put on a movie in the 'netflix-cave'. Staff maked...

The Base Camp Hostel is perfect to relax on the rooftop terrace with a perfect view to volcan Agua, volcan Fuego and volcan Acatenango. Five minutes after arriving I already saw lava running down volcan Fuego, just by standing on the terrace. How amazing is that? The beds are comfy, the breakfast a good start for the day, the ping-pong...

The hostel was decent and the breakfast very good. Some of the staff were not too friendly though. For example the second time we stayed there we arrived at 7am and we were leaving the next morning at 2am so we asked if we could get the breakfast that day since we weren't gonna get it the morning after our...

A friend and I stayed at Base Camp for one night to take the bus to El Tunco in El Salvador, only two streets away. We were in a six bed dorm with a window looking over the street (I think it was number one). Towel and sheet were included free of charge. We were a bit apprehensive about the...

Base Camp is a very clean and comfortable hostel. The beds rock, there is a lot of space to hang out and relax bathrooms are clean and showers are HOT! Physically, the hostel leaves nothing to be desired. Unfortunately, however, the hostel is staffed purely by volunteers and the quality of service/friendliness you get from them depends on who the...
