We stayed in two hostels in Antigua because of a lack of space in each. This one was far superior to the other (Hostal Posada de San Carlos). Be prepared for the open-air feel of this hostel. There is no privacy, really. We were 5 travelers and were in a room for 8 so we left the door open in...

I was in El Hostal this August for only 1 night, my first night in Guatemala, sleeping in the dorm. Prices are good, especially consiering that a good breakfast is included, the room was clean and silent. The internal courtyard is very nice for relaxing and talking with other travellers and retains some "Guatemala" feeling.

Loved staying here, staff were great and food was awesome. The inner courtyard area is a great place to hang when you are tired of walking the streets. They can arrange trips and tours and have free filtered water available for 1Q

Lovely hostel, great atmosphere, excellent location and delicious free breakfast. Gabby on reception spoke fluent English and went out of her way to help us organise a private trip to the Pacaya Volcano. She organised for Mario from ExtremeClimbing to take 4 of us on a trek for the day- He was a fantastic guide! Thank you!

This hostel caters to all travellers needs with help for transportation. An on site juice bar. Good breakfast. In a street full restaurants. There is a good vibe in the common area and the dorms are nice.

For a budget hostel this has it all - cheap, clean rooms and dorms. Well maintained bathrooms and a decent communal area. Breakfast included and a water bucket to fill you water bottle up. Thoroughly recommened

We loved staying here so much that we have re-booked to stay here when we return to Antigua later this week. Breakfast is included in the price and it's really good! We have since found out that locally it has a great reputation for its breakfast. The staff are super friendly and helpful and speak English (good if you need...

The hostel is set up with a court yard which is a great place to socialise, the hostel is very sociable...

The hostel was great! Easy to find, had all the amenities, and was very clean. The breakfast (included) was delicious, and the extras to buy for breakfast were great! In the evening they had a happy hour, which I never got to enjoy, but it seemed fun! Things got a little noisy at times, especially from Cafe No Se across...

My friends and I stayed at El hostal for two nights recently. We had a faultless airport transfer arranged and were checked in with now problems. We stayed in a private 4 bed for one night and a 10 bed dorm for the other. Both rooms were great, good size, comfy beds and secure storage space. The only issue we...
