I will defiantly be back to the Martin House! I had a fabulous time, the staff was so sweet and friendly. Melissa and Tom were so enjoyable, fun stories and the homemade scones- they were amazing! The room was so relaxing and cozy. I think it is so neat that they would eat breakfast with their guests and make them...

My husband and I had been meaning to get out to Nantucket for ages and finally made it. We were so glad we chose the Martin House Inn as our host. We were greeted by the lovely inn-keeper Caroline who allowed us to store our bags at the Inn even though we arrived several hours before check in. The Inn...

My fiance and I flew over to Nantucket for a few days of rest and relaxation after a wonderful wedding in Chatham and could not have asked for a more lovely setting than the Martin House Inn for our little escape from reality. We were greeted each morning to a beautiful breakfast and so enjoyed talking to the inn keepers......

Melissa and staff did an excellent job at making a very rainy weekend, sunny! We arrived at 5:20, in the pouring rain. We quickly dropped our bags and enjoyed a wonderful wine, cheese and so much more welcome reception. We met other guests from the Inn as well as the Cliffside Inn (a sister Inn). Everyone we met we very...

A friend's wedding brought us to Nantucket for the first time. The Martin House Inn was recommended by the bride. From the first phone call with Lisa to the actual visit 9.10.16, Lisa was very pleasant to work with. She is very knowledgeable about Nantucket and was very helpful. The Inn was quaint, nicely decorated and welcoming. There was a...

My husband and I just spent three days on Nantuckett and found the Martin House Inn all you could want. It is a charming old inn located a short walk to everywhere. The bed was fit for a queen, the bath was modern, and Lisa, the Innkeeper, keeps the inn comfortable and homey. We were comfortable immediately. There is always...

Our room with private bath was adequate, a little crowded. Breakfast was fine for our needs, buffet style, cereals and fruit, sweet breads. We felt that the hostess was somewhat busy and abrupt on our first day; she was more gracious later. Our room was on the first floor.

As a regular visitor to Nantucket for work (almost monthly for the past three years) Martin House Inn is my favorite place to stay. Warm reception always by inn-keeper Lisa, who is a master baker and puts out the most delicious baked good for breakfast each day. Even though the best bakery in town is but a block away, Lisa's...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Our spacious accommodations blend the convenience and comforts of today with the romance and nostalgia of the past. Built in 1803 by a sea captain for his bride and recently restored to a gracious old-world elegance, the inn combines the charm and romance of a bygone era with all the comforts of home. With its many comfortable gathering areas, its fireplaces, the luxury of its rooms, its peaceful veranda caressed by light breezes and the sound of classical music, and of course its spacious roof walk offering panoramic views of the town and the harbor, the Martin House is a place that beckons you to return. We serve a bountiful continental breakfast prepared by our pastry chef, featuring her famous homemade granola and scones, another pastry, cereals, fruit, juices, gourmet coffee and tea, each morning. In the afternoon, we serve homemade treats. In the heart of Nantucket’s historic district, the inn is just a short walk from all the shops, beaches and restaurants in town. 13 rooms, air conditioning, free wireless internet; many guest rooms with working fireplaces. ... more   less
