Out in the woods.....quiet, peaceful! Close to Moosehead Lake! Loved the campgrounds, the owners are very friendly and helpful! Moxie Falls is a must on your to do list! Went looking for moose, but didn't have any luck. Did see a lot of turkeys!

My husband is thru hiking the AT and I'm assisting with a motor home, towing a car. Balsam Woods campground was a great location, close to th AT. This campground was quiet even when at full capacity, had clean bathrooms/showers/laundry, nice game room and lots of activities for the Halloween weekend. The staff was very helpful and worked to provide...

We arrived 8/7 and stayed a month. Our site F18 was large, level and fairly private. The campground is hustle and bustle on the week ends. It is family oriented with playground, nice pool, Saturday night movies and blueberry pancake breakfast Sunday mornings. If you ATV, they are ready for you. No ATV's allowed in the actual campground. Nice bathroom...

This is a beautiful campground. The location is great. So much to see and do in the area! From here we were only a short distance to great kayaking, hiking, moose watching and blueberry picking to name a few things. It's surrounded by beautiful lakes and mountains. The campground is nicely spread out. The pool was clean and nice. The...

Excellent campground. Well maintained, good roads, level sites, decent utility placement by Maine standards, good pool and planned activities for children, hard working managers. Nice bathhouse with portolets scattered throughout the campground, Can't think of any negatives at all. We camped there for 10 days in a motorhome with 2 people.

We have camp from Maine to the southern states and as far west as New Mexico and as far north as our 49th state. We have stayed in national chains like KOA and many, many smaller independents. This place (Balsam Woods Abbot, Maine) tops them all. Great facilities and great folks running it. When they say at a business "the...

Stayed again, second time, this past weekend. Love this campground. Store was adequately stocked for the items we forgot. The site was clean, and level. Picnic tables were in very good condition. Pool was clean and has a great salt water system. We have loved this campground from day one. This weekend we stayed was Christmas in July. A visit...

This is one of the best campgrounds we have stayed at in Maine. All sites were spacious, even and well equipped. We have a 33 foot travel trailer and I was able to easily navigate the campground and back into my space without any issue. The owners have done a great job maintaining the property and are very customer centric,...

A lovely, clean campground with a fantasic HEATED pool!. Every part of the ground, including the rest rooms were clean and well maintained. The campground had just the right amount of amenities and activities. We went with our 5 year old and 15 year old and didn't want a crazy, buzy ground. We will be going back!
