Back to Panama since my last visit November last year to present my new book. Decided for Casco Vievo and Hotel Casa Panama again and I'm glad of the choice. Rogelio and Nicolas, front of the house managers, greet me as an old friend of the house and went beyond the line of duty to accommodate my needs as a writer, in a room that was ample enough for my work and quiet. Is good to note that some rooms, that overlook the Eloy Alfaro Avenue (front of the hotel), can be rowdy at night, specially on week-ends. Side rooms, however, also have a balcony but are much quiet. Value in this hotel is excellent and includes a la carte breakfast served at highly rated Santa Rita Restaurant. Also, the roof-top of the hotel house La Azotea a great bar and restaurant with a small pool, with tons of atmosphere professionally cater-to by Eugenia, the manager. Mario and all other staff are great too.…
Wonderful location. Walking distance to everything. Hotel was out of the magazine designer look. Was on the main floor and the room was a good size and roomy. Was a little loud at night, but I think when you are in Casa Vieja old Panamá everything is loud at night. It was a great adventure
very trendy vibes, seems like a new hotel. it’s on one of the main roads but not right in the center of the old town but the location is super nice. you stay away from all the honking cars. wifi worked but was spotty in the rooms, one night it didn’t work at all. they cleaned our rooms promptly every day. there’s a rooftop bar with a pool but the pool is very small, unable to legit swim at. the food is good too, alittle pricey. on the weekends it gets LOUD! the bumping of the music went on till atleast 2 am so just be ready for that. other than that, would stay here again
Overall the hotel was a convenient location with delicious complementary breakfast at the neighboring restaurant Santa Rita. It is a good hotel is you want to participate in Casco Viejo's night life. However, the hotels website implied FREE hotel/airport transportation and this was NOT the case. They also state they can pack breakfasts to go early in the morning and this was NOT the case. The receptionist was not friendly and acted very annoyed with those requests. The rooms were loud at night from the neighboring bar, lighting in the room and bathroom was very poor, and only a sheet was provided for linens. This overall made for a mediocre stay at Hotel Casa Panama.
We stayed here 2 nights. Very convenient if you are in Panama City for a short stay. Located in the deep heart of the historical old town you are in the place to be, close to the ocean and other spots to visit. Hotel well decorated, room big enough, bathroom a bit tiny and global lights too dark but overall experience ok. Be aware that the Casco Viejo is very noisy by night and windows of your room are very thin. Rooftop is a plus (or not during the weekend considering noise)
