I was only at the hotel for a total of 8 hours and spent most of the time sleeping, so not the most accurate review. When we arrived at 12:30 am (long story) it was just the security guard there and he let us in. They didn't have the reservation from "Hotels Tonight", but did let us in the room after taking a picture of my credit card and my email receipt. Everything was closed/shut down but the location is in the middle of the city so we got some food. The room was nice, but the "city view" at night wasn't great. I looked at the pool and fitness center before I left and it was great. The hot tub was "out of service". When I checked out, I had to explain the whole "Hotels Tonight" scenario to another gentleman and he took another picture of my credit card and the recent. The Global Hotel is a nice oasis for visitors to Panama City. It has large rooms with spacious closets and all the amenities of an international hotel, at least under normal circumstances. During my stay in October of 2020, Panama's Airport had only been open for international arrivals for one week or so following the country's long lock down for the COVID-19 pandemic. Because of that, the hotel was very empty and had no open restaurants. The mini bar products in the room had been removed, and there were very few amenities that were still provided, other than soap, shampoo, conditioner and lotion in personal, single use sizes. Still, the front desk staff was friendly and helpful, the TV had lots of channels, the bed was comfy, the room was spotless, and the shower water was hot. So I was happy with my stay and I would recommend it to others. I'd like to go back when the hotel is fully operational and experience it that way, when I am sure it's even better!…
Very impressed. Modern, clean, in a good location, and very friendly staff. Am/Pm right across the street for cheap snacks 24 hours per day. Office chair in the room doesn't fit under the desk well and gets annoying while trying to do work, but still giving this place five stars.
We stayed at the Global for 3 days -- after having switched from the W Hotel. The room was great (modern and clean) with a nice view and the hotel front desk and bellman/valet were very helpful. My kid loved the pool -- it was quiet and nice. The morning breakfast was good but slightly overpriced (they had a 2-for-1 promotion while we were there and it worked out well). Overall, this hotel is a great value and well situated for a stay in Panama City.
I just visited Panama City and had the great luck to stay at Global Hotel Panama for five days. I was greeted with the offer of cold champagne or water, and then was quickly checked in. Kevin, the Bellman/Concierge, was incredibly kind and helped me get settled into my room. My room (1705) was beautiful, spacious, and clean. I was hot and sweaty from traveling in the heat and humidity, and the shower was amazing. The breakfast buffet was certainly worth the price, with several choices of hot dishes - scrambled and hard boiled eggs every day, a selection of meats, potatoes and pancakes/French toast rotated every day, plus an omelette station - and delicious fresh fruit and juices. They also had cereal, toast, cold cuts, and pastries. The pool was fantastic, with amazing views. (I went swimming at night, and was able to stargaze at the same time.) My only negative comment is that there was no room service menu or any information about the hotel in the room. Otherwise, my stay was perfect.
