We stayed here for our final night after two nights in the old town. It was a good choice. Our room was very comfy, fridge, kettle and beer, cold drinks available to buy. Oscar and Avicenna were very welcoming and delightful hosts. We had a good, freshly home cooked breakfast of guava juice, scrambled egg, coffee, patacone and yogurt in the garden with the birds. It is within walking distance to the Murals by William B Van Ingen in the Panama Canal building, they are VG. We used UBER to get to the airport. We would recommend staying here.
Our Balboa Inn experience was excellent from beginning to end. The room was spotlessly clean and very quiet. The inn's location is perfect for easy access to Alcon Hill (Cerro Alcon) and the amazing Metropolitan Natural Park. The staff was wonderfully helpful, whether calling a car to take us to the park, explaining directions, or preparing meals. Speaking of which, breakfast and dinner -- both delicious -- are served on a patio looking into a lush garden. For birders: While having breakfast, we saw, amongst other birds, the Keel-billed Toucan, Scarlet-Rumped Tanager, Crimson-Collared Tanager, Common Tody Flycatcher, several hummingbirds, and two Blue-Grey Tanagers that perched near us for quite a while.
Great place to stay. A/C in rooms. Breakfast, dinner daily, drinks soda, water, beer in fridge. Friendliest staff ever. Host went the extra mile to help us with several needs during the stay and informed us about local places.
A very cute, restful place, close to attractions in a quiet neighborhood. Uber was only a few dollars to get around if needed. Was under renovations but will be supper cute once finished, with a new fishpond and renovated rooms. The breakfast was basic with several choices, including coffee and juice. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful.
Great location and convenient for going to most attractions. Very clean and nice staff. The rooms are all being or have been refurbished and there is excellent wifi coverage. Improvements currently being carried out include a small swimming pool. Non smoking but smokers can go to a boil at the end of the garden which is well away from the main building. Breakfast and dinner available plus beers etc. Quiet and very pleasant atmosphere. Also very close to the bridge of the Americas for anyone renting a car to explore other areas of Panama. Would reccoment airport pick up which can be arranged. A taxi into the centre of the city will cost around $4.00. Not far from the Panama Canal and the Amador causeway wich is well worth a visit and where the bio museum is located. One the best restaurants the we visit on the causeway is Leños y Carbón. Also a great Lebanese restaurant. Walking distance from the hotel is Bon profit restaurant and Country Kitchen which offer a good menu at very reasonable cost. Prices for a stay at the hotel are excellent value for money.…
