I stayed three nights at the Panamericana Hostel, and I must say I loved the location in Casco Viejo. The hostel was clean and breakfast was included. The breakfast consisted of bananas (if you were up early), white bread and peanutbutter and jam, plus coffe. I didn't really sleep very good though, because of the drunk guests that came in... More

This is actually a quite great hostel. It's cheap, clean, with friendly staff and a nice location in Casco Viejo, close to several restaurants and bars, and to the fish marked. However, I could never stay here again, as I did not get any good sleep for the three nights I was here. There was sort of an open window... More

The Panamerican hostel has high ceilings in every room, which was a relieve after having spent some nights in a crampy room. A bit strange are the open parts above every door and the drapes are fairly bright. They should come up with a better way of opening the balcony doors of the rooms. All in all a fair deal.... More

Yes, people complain about the noise, but it is a hostal, what did you expect? The rooms are good, we got one with a big balcony in front of the Plaza Herrera. The location is excellent! We stayed there for over a week and could walk to the Balboa strip after roaming around the beautiful Casco Viejo area. You are... More

Perfect location in Casco Viejo. Large and clean dorms with great lockers. Good hang out wether on the rooftop or inside. There is even warm water to shower. The kitchen is spacious and perfect to make your own breakfast or dinner. Don't forget to go to the fish market for lunch. You can walk along the shore from the hostel... More

I stayed here with my boyfriend for two nights and it was overall pretty good. The location was perfect, right in center of old town. We had a private room with private bathroom which had lockers and felt very safe. The downside was the location of the room as it shared a wall with the floors shared bathroom which made... More

The double room was very simple but acceptable - literally just two beds and old school-like lockers. The socket was very loose and difficult to use. The bathroom in the corridor was okay and quite clean. We received PBJ sandwiches, coffee and fruit for breakfast free of charge. The hostel provides a computer with internet access which is great but... More

We visited here in December 2013 and had a great time. The location is perfect. The price was great too for the time of year. Our room was clean. Some rooms have a bathroom. Ours had one and the ceiling fan and open windows made helped to keep the rooms cool. Since it's a hostel, it's not the quietest, but... More

This place was so great. Best roof top patio chill zone in Casco viejo. The dorms were huge and airy and with French doors opening to a patio the room felt breezy, clean and quite beautiful. The private room was average, but nice enough. Staff was helpful and there is coffee and breakfast. This is a great location, and the... More

I stayed here for four nights total on two occasions over a week with my boyfriend in a private room with a private bathroom. The location was great, the rooms were clean, and the beds were comfortable. We also really enjoyed the rooftop space, which had great views of the square below, the ocean, and the rest of the city.... More

“It's a youth hostel!! Expect noise, late night fun and games. A few private rooms, mostly dorm rooms with double-deck cots. Go somewhere more expensive if you are there for "good rooms"..”

“If you do decide to stay here, stay on the far sides of the building away from the stairs and light shaft. Go for a room with private bathroom to avoid having drunk 18 year olds throw up all over the shared ones.”
