Restaurant was nasty. I asked the guy to clean the floor where I was going to sit to enjoy a meal. He swept part of the area but neglected the human hair on the floor. I quicly lost my appetite and asked just for a coffee. I told him that during the pandemic the restaurant needed to maintain the cleanliness. He said nothing. Didn't say thankyou when he gave me the receipt. Nasty!
Well, my review is not positive... I have made the most use of Google Translate in my interactions with the workers here... the problem wasn’t the language barrier- it was the super poor service... I don’t speak Spanish- and even though Panama is a Spanish-speaking country, I was taken aback by how few people on staff at the Executive Hotel knew English. We stayed for 4 nights in this boutique hotel. The spot is centrally located in a “easy to get everywhere”neighborhood. They gave us a low floor (3rd) and the room seemed like it hadn’t been rented in a while- weird smell- room directly across from the adjacent hotel’s restaurant. Had to keep curtains closed the whole time. A roach greeted me when I went to the bathroom the first time. Great. The rooms were appointed well enough, sans towels or microwave. We called for towels and someone came with 2 bath towels- no smaller towels available, even after sign language and google translate requests for “poquito” ones... the towel circus re-occurred every single day we stayed- sometimes no towels in the room, sometimes only 1 bath towel- I’m thinking they don’t have enough for the entire hotel. <<sigh>> I should not have to supply my own towels when staying at a hotel. Unfortunately, that’s exactly what I did- went to a cheap 99cent spot for washcloths to keep my face clean... I refused to make one bath towel do dual duty- eww... The free breakfast is a stingy affair, complete with runny, indistinguishable eggs and halfhearted offerings. It wasn’t the inventory that was the problem- it was the execution and the lack of any attention to detail... For example, I wanted tea one morning and the waitress couldn’t be bothered- sent me to the bar. I go shlepping over there, with food getting cold on the table, cuz she didn’t wanna... Finally, I made due with lemons & hot water. (btw, great bartender, he tried his best...) There is no water or coffee available all day- I was told repeatedly that I needed to wait till breakfast tomorrow- whatever housekeeping leaves in ur fridge is all ur getting... When a tennis group ate all the fruit and pastries, I was told “no more” but as I left, full trays of both reappeared. They charge you extra to bring take out containers to your room. I had to wrap food in cloth napkins to bring my daughter, who slept in... No take away coffee cups. Really? This hotel makes me only want to use branded hotels in the future. Wow. It was that bad. Could be a jewel, but the staff/management get a zero, in my opinion. Overall, a 2 rating for what this place potentially could be... Beautiful outdoor space & cute pool area. It’s a shame. …
Poor & very little Personnel for service to guests. This place is Great but management fails to put enough personal to cover the necessary areas. Order taking is delayed, Food and Beverages are delayed at times instead of hot food receive cold. Personnel needs to be trained (new hires) they fail to know what is in their own menu or even Drinks. Poor service at times, This used to me my first option now it is the last option. Buffet in the AM is light in options of menu along with poor presentation, Eggs not cooked properly, Bread selections is very Vague, Coffee should be brought to the table instead having to get in line for buffet and coffee. Bar service they do not have a trained person to attend, i have had to wait for someone to come and service me and others waiting. Covering Managers are having to take different positions rather control and give/provide quality to all the guests.…
The good, the bad and the ugly. First the good..Good location, free breakfast, helpful staffing. The ladies at the reception were a great help. 24/7 security and cab service was abundant. Free coffee and bottled water, and most staff spoke English. Now for the bad.. poor WiFi, water in shower never hot, warm at best.. I guess this saved energy. Initially no full towels in my room, small bathroom and the toilet flushed poorly. That last part was the ugly. Despite its shortcomings I would stay here again and recommend it but don’t expect 4 stars service.
I go for work and it is very practical. Friendly attention and simple but comfortable and functional rooms. The price-quality ratio is very good. The breakfast is buffet and is fine. I stayed several times here and is always good.
