The family who owns and runs Casa Margarita is so friendly and very helpful! Although the rooms are fairly plain, our room was comfortable, clean, and easily cooled with in-room air conditioning. We had a mini-fridge, which was helpful also (we were in room 2). Breakfasts (2 courses) were quite tasty, and we enjoyed sampling various fruits and traditional Latin... More

We've stayed at Casa Margarita since 2012 and have never been disappointed! The rooms are large and immaculate and the towels soft and fluffy. Breakfasts are big and delicious - and relaxing on the patio. Which is a great place to enjoy a cold beer after running errands or sight seeing. The family that manages the Hostal lives next door... This is all the best bits of staying with a family. You have your privacy but they will check you are okay and give taxi, restaurant and sightseeing tips. If you like to cook there is a big kitchen, cooker, refrigerator and freezer. If you want to put a ready bought meal like me, there is a microwave and also... More

Thank you so much for being such lovely hosts! I cannot recommend this hostel enough, especially if you are by yourself or travelling with family. My room was huge, with a double bed, mini fridge and large bathroom to accompany it. It was cleaned daily and the whole site was always tidy and clean. The kitchen facilities were excellent, I... We only stayed one night, but definitely would have stayed longer had our trip allowed for it. The family was so nice and helpful giving us suggestions on local restaurants, calling and making a reservation for us with a taxi and then knocking on our door when the taxi arrived. For the price, you can't beat the Casa Margarita.

We were looking forward to our one night stay at this inn. Unfortunately, the online booking agent did not send (or the internet ate) the reservation. The inn was full. Fortunately, they were able to call around and book us at one of their competitors nearby for the same price. We look forward to trying them again sometime based on... More

We were a party of 16 of various ages who spent roughly 10 days at Hostal Casa Margarita over the recent holidays. Probably better said, we pretty much occupied the place. We were looking for a location in the city which would have some room to spread out. At the same time, we wanted to be able to get out... More

I stayed for a week with my whole family. It's a great stay with amazing breakfasts. The rooms are clean and well kept with great hammocks to lay on outside. It was the kind of service where you never need to ask for anything because it has already been done for you. The area is very convenient with many recreational... More

The staff are very friendly & go out of their way to make sure your stay is good as it can be and make an effort to sort out anything that you need to. Simple & clean accomodation is very homely. Outside the center of the city may be a disadvantage if you like to be close to the action... More

“Don't rent cars unless absolutely necessary. Panama has an insurance you must purchase and the companies do not tell you about it (almost $17/day). Taxis are OK. Stand your ground on rates. Let the desk personnel call cabs for you.”

“Ask whether you have a window facing the outside or not. Natural light is not a given for all rooms.”

“We stayed in two different rooms. #1 is larger, closer to the front door, however it is more difficult to get internet service in that room. We went out to the lobby to connect to the internet. Room #5 is smaller and you cannot connect to the internet without any problems.”
