Great accommodation for reasonable price in Panama City. The staff is super friendly and helping. We have booked room on for our first day in Panama and our last day. Young guy said they also offer transfers to San Blas, which is definitely a must go :) In the neighbourhood there is also supermarket;)
The staff are so friendly here. Location is good - though in a more quiet part of the city, there is a bus stop right outside the door. Also supermarkets, cafes and resturants within a couple of minutes walk. Beds were so comfertable and air-con in the dorm worked amazingly! Hostel was a little quiet, my dorm was only for me, seemed quite popular with families in the private rooms. Would defo stay here again (so.long as I wasn't looking to party!) Great value for money!
My experience was beyond my imagination. I was born in the Canal Zone and lived in Balboa . My stayed in La Casita Roja brought many childhood memories. The staffs were great and went beyond their duty. The young couples at the desk from Colombia are terrific and enjoyable. They answer any questions you had and always there to help. You have a great place and no complaint in rooms very clean and very colorful. Breakfast and coffee was great but which they had empanadas y tortillas. Great location to go anywhere from the Hostal Amador. Coming back Sept 1,2019 to stay 30 or more days. Excellent Service , y muchos saludos a Janet y su esposo y la se-nora de Costa Rica. You're all beautiful and the owners. Desde Oklahoma USA Hubert Hammond
We stayed here for three nights and it was a very pleasant introduction to Panama, especially as I saw an agouti wandering around in the neighbouring garden on my first walk around the area! My only reservation concerns the size of the room, which was somewhat cramped
we are overlanders and stayed in our camper van outside on the parking-lot so I cant really say anything about the Rooms. we were using the kitchen and the toilet and shower during our stay and it was all very clean and good organized. staff welcomed us very friendly and gave us some very helpful advice on what to do in the city.
When the People in the room over us took a shower and didn't close the door the water came from our roof. Therefor the air in the room was not bretty good. People in the rooms and on th stairs are very loud. The Hostel is good located.
My husband, 12-year old son and I spent 8 nights at Amador Familiar. We had a spacious room with 3 twin beds. The bathroom wasn't large but worked well and was very clean. We were traveling with a church group and it was a great place to relax at the end of the day. We got together each evening in the open-air kitchen/dining room to talk about our day. That was my favorite area of the hostal because we could eat, plan our next day, watch the birds, and enjoy the cute lamb playing in the yard all at the same time. We walked and explored the area and it's only a 5-10 minute walk to a couple of restaurants. The facility is well-kept and clean and the huge thermos of cold water was a nice touch so we could fill our water bottles. The owners and staff were great! They made us feel like part of their family and were patient with me when I tried to speak a little Spanish. We hope to stay at the Hostal Amador Familiar on our next trip to Panama.…
My wife & I came down from El Valle de Antón for a trip to the Pearl Islands (Islas Perles). Our ferry was scheduled for the following day & we needed to overnight somewhere economical. A friend of ours suggested his go to spot including his preferred room. We were not disappointed. Janith, the receptionist, was very courteous as was all the staff. The room was quite small but clean. Plenty of hot water in the shower. Centrally located for walking or catching a cab. I spent some time reading & relaxing in the hammock located on the grounds. Breakfast was included. All for $32 US! Highly recommend for those on a budget.
Nice place to stay.. basic and clean, near the Cosway, with comfortably rooms and a nice garden....!quite and safe area, it's easy reach all the places in Panama city...taxi and buses are nearby.I liked it
Stayed here for 4 nights in a triple room with 2 friends. It was quite dated but clean and other than the air conditioning being super loud I had no complaints. Hot water in the shower and a kitchen available to cook our own food. Located in a nice area close to Aldbrook Mall with a taxi there costing approx $3. Nice garden area and a couple of shops nearby.
