Honestly, everyone here couldn't have been more helpful. Got me a sim, put .money on my phone, packed breakfasts, lovely staff. We had two stays and the second rooms were infinitely nicer than the first. Go for 214 and 215 and not 201 and 238. The area is why I gave it a four. Calidonia is a bit dodgy at night so one has to be careful - so although the place is walking distance from casco viejo, we avoided it. There is free coffee and tea all day. The breakfast room has a bizarre eclectic decor and the buffet is OK. The wifi is excellent. Be prepared to take local ubers from here. Victor the owner is a huge character. We felt very welcome. 5 nights and we are glad for our choice. Very near Albrook airport and 10 minute walk to fish market and Antillean African museum is just round the corner …
This is a very good hotel; cheap, big rooms, very good breakfast and the staff is amazing. We had a problem with a pizza delivery, and victor (the owner) fixed it for us and got us a new pizza!! We couldnt get the smarttv in our room to work, but the guys from the receptions fixed it for us right away. Also the breakfast is very good, the lady (Adela) working there is super nice and friendly. They helped us with everything we needed and never said no :-D would definately stay here again! Thank you!
Great hotel and friendly staff. WiFi worked great and the room was clean. Shower was nice and hot. Breakfast was plenty and the lady was very friendly. There are some shops close by too which was really handy and conveniently
Stayed for 2 nights then went on a trip to San Blas and stayed once more so 2 reviews in one really. First 2 nights had a tiny jail cell type room with a window into the corridor. Didn’t mind the first nights as was jet lagged from plane. Second night just felt horrible. When we returned from our trip we asked for a room with a window. We got a room 3 times as big with great big windows and a much better bathroom. I much preferred this room however it looked out onto a Main Street which was a buzz of activity and traffic so very loud. I didn’t mind though and had no problems sleeping. Breakfast was a good standard for the price, plenty of fruit, pancakes, bread and eggs type of things. Owner was very friendly, don’t get in a conversation if need to be somewhere. Thought the location was good being close to metro and on edge of Casio viejo the old town. Near the fish market which is worth a visit for some food if want a different eating experience. Didn’t feel the safest of areas though and safer to get taxi back at night. They do have a porter who was very helpful and stopped us from going the wrong ways. Sure there was a roof terrace advertised dtoocwhich was funny as went up there and it was literally a roof of a tower block, metal poles sticking up no bar area or seasoning facilities or anything like that. My advise if you are a deep sleeper ask for a room with a window.…
The quality-price is quiet bad, very expensive for what it is. The room didn’t have a good ventilation, the window was to the corridor, so not really fresh air or a view outside. There is a useless kitchen in the room: microwave, mini-fridge and some glasses... The hotel, in general, is ugly. The breakfast room is a pain for your eyes. The city center is not far but I wouldn’t recommend to go walking to the hotel during the night, the area doesn’t look very safe and a taxi driver told me to be careful at that time. Probably the best was the varierity of the breakfast.
