My family and I just retruned from a 5 day vacation at this lovely hotel in Sofia. While it is not in the center of the city it is a really cheap cab ride away or a couple of stops on the metro. It is one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever seen. We were in a junior...

We stayed 3 nights in the Marinela hotel as a base to explore Sofia. Our standard class room (No. 419) has a nice city view from the window. The room was good in size and comfortable. However, better maintenance, better housekeeping and facilities for coffee in the room are needed. The breakfast was excellent. The hotel is located out of...

Location is quite off center. 20-30 minutes walking. Very good and varied choice at breakfast. Bars, restaurants, concierge service, car rental. Rooms are spacious, beds not bad. Cleaning could be better.

I expected more from 5 stars hotel, they got "low cost" rooms "economy", cheap, yet I didn't get the option to upgrade or anything, charging for 500 BGN just in case, will make refund when you check out, service is really good, staff are nice, it's a bit far from the center, but close to other attractions.

The hotel is modern, clean and well-maintained with good facilities and a two station subway ride from the old town center. We had a room on the 15th floor which gave us a good city view. The room (a deluxe) was spacious, in light colors and the bed huge. The bathroom was well-equipped and the various toiletries replenished every day....

The entrance and lobby of the hotel is sharing the hall with 4 bars and restaurants so, from my personal point of view, it is weird. I feel that the lobby is over decorated especially when you ser the rooms weak conditions. The hotel looks like in the middle of renovation and rooms are not there yet. The breakfast is...

Rooms are old, and generally needs restoration. Furniture and carpets should be changed 5 years ago. You can still feel the 80's Hotel Vitosha atmosphere. There is not any smoker room. Smoking is forbidden in all rooms and there is a 100 euro penalty. The Candy Bar and other restaurants are well. In my room toilet paper, bath towels, bag...

I stay at this hotel very often for business. The lobby is spectacular and very luxury, however the rooms are not at par. They have been cheaply "renovated" and the result is mediocre at best. During my last stay the curtain was unhinged, there were no power outlets next to the bed (which means that if you are charging your...

Don't let the shining lobby area distract your thinking! The hotel room was honestly speaking out of order with falling curtains, broken shower, uncomfortable bed and pillows as well as smokey smell. The hotels decent breakfast and well equipped gym & large swimming pool were the most positive aspects of my stay at Marinela!
