Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I wasn't expecting much based on the previous reviews but I found this hotel to be very acceptable, if a bit overpriced. Sure it's a bit of an adjustment after being on the island resorts but it's fine for a stopover in town before or after. Room was spacious, clean, functional, as was the bathroom (could do with more lighting). Not luxurious but a good 3 star standard. Pillows need replacing though - too lumpy! Balcony with table and chairs but the view is just the city. There is some street noise but it wasn't too bad with the door closed (or maybe I'm used to it as I live near a busy road at home!). Exterior of building does need a repaint! Gym (treadmills outdated but everything works), small pool (needs sprucing up, could be a much nicer area than it is currently), and a

On entering the Tahiti Nui you may think you are going to enjoy a luxury experience judging by the massive marble lobby and a poor cleaner tirelessly trying to keep it pristine! But no far from it. Although the front desk staff are quick and efficient and give an air of excellence- they were totally incompetent and knew nothing about the room set ups and we were also given misinformation regarding the markets. The rooms are clean enough but the balconies are tired and old. The pool has tiles peeling off it and the whole place has an air of decay.

Poor standard for a supposed luxury hotel -incl its lacking attention to detail ( downlight in a bathroom couldn’t be repaired till next day , no milk available for coffee in room unless and until restaurant opened , poor quality television reception incl unavailability of stations said to be available ). The poor quality of the building’s exterior with its pealing paint is at odds with the photos used for promotional material . Overpriced for what it was .

No concierge facilities: NO porterage I.E. taking baggage to and from room No Hotel- Airport Shuttle service. Bathroom floor very slippery when wet; exceedingly dangerous for elderly people. No shower hand supports. Tourist in Tahiti poorly supported: No ship to hotel, airport to airport shuttle service. Wait for taxi to hotel of ship took 2hours +!

This property was booked as part of a cruise deal and we did not have high expectations. Check in process was efficient with friendly front end staff. Luggage was stored as we were early. Well appointed room with two large double beds which were very comfortable. We did not eat or drink in house so cannot comment. Hotel is fairly central to town and an easy walk to the quay. Would recommend for an o night or short stay.

I and 2 friends stayed in a 2BR king suite. First night the bedrooms in the upper level were too hot to sleep in. Advised the front desk and then requested 3 sheets which we used to sleep on the furniture in the lower level which was barely cooler. Maintenance came the next day to attempt to resolve the temperature issue. It was better but still uncomfortably warm. One person slept on the lower lever furniture the entire 4 nights in lieu of a warmer bedroom. The second day we notice an ant infestation in the lower level bathroom and the master bedroom. We asked the front desk to have someone spray or otherwise try to eliminate the ant issue. Housekeeping showed up the last night and simply wiped as many ants as she could with wet toilet paper. One of the showers was

Good location by the harbor and room was ok, but the dining room and bar were to be avoided! Got in late and wanted appetizers and drinks. Were shuffled through dining room to bartender that charged our card three times for one drink. Next morning, breakfast was $80 for eggs that were spoiled- spent twelve hours sick and lost a day of our vacation. Next time will stay out by the airport!

Avoid this hotel at all cost .. you'll feel safer sleeping on the sidewalk at the airport. Booked in by NCL due to delayed flight out of Papeete, that disaster is another story but or now onto the hotel review ... to start with the hotel fronts onto the busiest street in Papeete, with constant traffic of trucks, mopeds, buses and car honking. Can't speak for the restaurant, it was all closed up by the time we were able to check in after sitting in their transit/conference room for over 3 hours. The front desk was no help suggesting anywhere to eat but if you're brave enough to venture out you can buy food next door at the gas station/convenient store ... mind the bread it was moldy. We were booked into room 407, down a dark hallway, with what looked like 'I don't know what

On the positive side, the location...very convenient to market. Room was comfortable and the shower fine. On the negative side, we arrived in the evening and just wanted a light appetizer/drinks and told they did not "do that" in the restaurant and that the bar was upstairs and could get appetizers there...we go upstairs and they only have drinks. Upon checking out, our card was charged three times because the machine was out of paper(still emailing to get credited). Breakfast with mediocre at best, and expensive.

A good hotel if you’re in transit. Papeete isn’t the prettiest of places. This is a nice enough hotel though with nice staff. We stayed in the two bedroom suite (upstairs mezzanine bedroom) & kitchenette for a night before boarding a ship & it was satisfactory. Like most of Papeete, not somewhere I’d spend a lot of time.
