We 4 had an unusual request; with about 10 hours on Tahiti between arrival plane from Raiatea and departure to U.S.A. we wanted to explore Papeete area and then have a place to shower and change before getting on the plane. We booked one double room online and then emailed the Lodge to be sure . Got a very fast...

With two cruise ships in town, most places were fully booked. As we did not want to spend $250 at the Le Meridian and did not like the Airport Motel at $142, the tourist information office was very helpful to finally find us the Ahitea Lodge for a mere $100. Though located five blocks from downtown, being at the end...

The place is very simple, undecorated and without major facilities. The breakfast is frugal. As only used for overnight, because the other day we went to Moorea, was ok- but would not recommend to anyone who will stay longer in Papeete

The draw for me was the swimming pool. Its was lovely. Clean, but small room with bathroom. Air con was a blessing, and handy to an outdoor terrace (room 9 I think). Free Wifi was great. Access to lounge area with coffee. Really helpfull staff who offered to provide a meal. Quiet surburban cul de sac. Fenced - felt safe....

We had a fantastic time here, Vaiana and her family run a friendly and helpful service. This is not a hotel but a pension or B and B as we call them here. It was much nicer than staying at a hotel and handy to our Friends who also live in Farepiti. We're sorry they only had room for us...

ARRIVAL: We arrived in Papeete after 1am. At our request, Ahitea had arranged for an airport pickup for 2600 XPF. This was charged to the room, so no worry about immediately having to get local currency. Our opinion of the price was that it was fair, unlike other opinions here. 1) this is similar to what we later paid on...

A great place to stay if you are waiting for a cruise or freighter. Really the only budget option in downtown Papeete. The family that runs it is very nice they even gave me some of their dinner and a beer when I got in late on the night I arrived. The hotel is basic. the Rooms are clean and...

The rooms were clean but very basic with the restroom down the hall. It is walking distance to the main shopping area. The neighborhood seemed safe for walking around during the day but I was weary of going out after dark. I opted to pay and have dinner at the lodge. It was family style with most of the guests...

We spent one night in Tahiti on our way to Bora Bora and I wanted someplace cheap that was close enough to walk to town. We found it. The owner and staff were friendly, the breakfast European style with great French bread, Coffee, and home made yoghurt and cheeses. There was no air conditioning but the fans worked well. Bathroom...

Simple , clean accommodation with helpful owner but located 20 minutes walk from town in a poor area. Not nice to walk back at night as pedestrian access along road not easy with broken surfaces and rubbish tips and stray dogs always along the way , also poor lighting. We stayed for 2 nights en route to LA but Papeete...
