1/2 day on Island. Combo cruise included drinks and bbq which is great. Wife went on intro scuba and enjoyed it a lot. Was only 145 fjd for approx. 30 mins which included instructor always on hand and about 5 to 10 mins briefing. She has bad eyesight but was able to see with the scuba mask no problem. Plenty... I stayed on South Sea Island for 2 nights as my 1st stop on an island hopping trip. It's a beautiful tiny island about 25mins from denarau port & was my picture perfect idea of a dessert island. The accommodation is a large dorm with 20 beds (I think) & 2 smaller dorms attached & sits above the one building... More

We stayed for one night on South Sea Island as part of our Fiji trip (see my other reviews for opinions on more hotels there). The island is tiny with the hostel in the middle and most people only stay for a night or two on their way to or from other islands in the Yasawas. Everything is fairly basic... More

Day trip to South Sea Island with Rosie Tours. Went with 2 x Adults and 1 x Child (8 y.o.). The trip on the catamaran boats take about 30 mins. The Island is perfectly situated close to Denarius Port. Be careful to make sure you call the tour company the day before to confirm booking. We did not get a... More

Bula We appreciate you taking your time to share your experience. As you mentioned South Sea Island is just 30 minutes away from Port Denarau. At the time of booking you should have been made aware of pick up time as all agents ensure that they let you know where pickup will be as well and sorry that this didnt... More

Amazing people, amazing food, just 10 of us on this tiny island you can walk around in 10 minutes. Perfect for couples and backpackers. Good day trip for families. The island has a real cozy family feel to the place.

The experience on this island depends a lot on the people you are going to meet. It is very small (no more than 35 people can sleep) and you can walk around the island in less than 5 minutes. There is a lot of day trippers during the day but once they leave, you have the island for yourself. We... More

Had the best stay here at south sea! Amazing staff, moses, sarah and suli in particular. Very friendly and always happy to help! Great cocktails and range of drinks. Daily activities, diving, free snorkling, kayack etc or options to relax in hammock or massage. Plenty of dancing, limbo and fun! Hoping to return soon!

The staff here really are fairly disinterested, on our first night there was 6 guests on the island and we all said no fish (including 2 vegetarians) All of us received fish for dinner. My girlfriend got food poisoning the 2nd night after dinner. The positives bring that we basically had the island to ourselves once the day trippers left... More

Iam sorry to be writing this review as i had a lovely day, however i feel this island needs to be shut down so the reef can grow back inland and come to life the island is like a coral graveyard. Yes there are plenty of live fish but there are also many dead, i watched alot of damage happen... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Gorgeous little South Sea Island is one of the treasures of the Mamanuca Islands. Crystal clear waters, coral reefs and thousands of colourful of tropical fish surround the island. No one lives on the island; the only overnight guests are the travellers who find this a great spot to stop off on the way to and from the Yasawas. It's only 30 minutes by ferry from Denarau Marina, so nice and easy! A dorm with a large deck and sun loungers sits atop the open-air restaurant, built with a rustic island theme in mind. You can stand on the beach on one side of the island and watch the sunrise. Later that day walk (for all of a minute!) to the other side to watch the sunset! Pure bliss! It may be small in size, but there is plenty to keep you entertained. During the day, day-trippers visit South Sea Island from Denarau who bring activity and entertainment with them. South Sea Island FijiThere is a salt water swimming pool and non-motorised water sports equipment available free of charge. Take in the underwater world aboard the semi-submersible or get a taste of Fijian culture with a traditional Meke performance and craft market Monday to Saturday. South Sea is a great place to learn to dive. Expert instructors and clear, shallow water ensures your first dives will be memorable. The marine life and coral you'll see will amaze you and if you're up for it, you can take a dive on out to a wreck. Come the evening there is no more tranquil place to be - cold drink in hand, the lapping of the waves the only sound to be heard. ... more   less
